How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Well the place is still under revamp and the unit lacked clean linens, bedsheet and other stuff.

Located on a very busy street. Very narrow entryway, very steep driveway. Suites 1 and 2 are upstairs, which I was not expecting. Noisy restaurant close by.
Close to stadiums, restaurants . Very private. Full open view tv access. Nice comfortable bed. LOVELY shower.

The door handle to the bedroom was loose, besides that everything was great!

The facilities within the apartment were a bit old and not very clean. A little upkeep of the property is required.

The people in nr 1 kept on with their fights. Espacially the woman swearing the man & they slammed doors alot. Didn't take into consideration other people that were staying there

Renovations still on the go. A dish towel would be nice. View of Durban is partially obscured, but you can still see a fair bit.
Upstairs apartment under renovation. There are some signs of trendiness mixed in with the oldness of the building. Roomy place with a huge TV.

Lot of noise coming from adjacent room. Owner should consider sound proofing the rooms

Please update the guests on the loadshedding schedule.
The location was good. near to amenities - beach, shops, restaurants, petrol station. Bedroom was a good comfortable size. Even though it was on a busy road, it was not noisy.

Besides the fact that it is located next to the stadium and 5 minutes drive to the beach, the place was infested with cockroaches, the towels were worn-out and dirty, the water was cold due to a geyser that was not working, with two couches, one was dirty and the other a sleeper couch broken. When the owner was informed of these issues, his response was a mere "ah bro. I'm sorry. " The owner was even complaining himself about the place and really didn't want to take responsibility for ensuring that we had the best stay. We informed of our disappointment, and we'll never book and recommend his AirBnB.

The owner needs to do some renovations and change the couches especially the red one old and dirty and the noise from other visitors. Can they also provide maybe those coffee sachets for the morning. We were only given one towel each for 3 days stay.
The owner did let us check in earlier and staff very friendly

there no hair dryer or tea and coffee, also there no bath mat and when there load shedding there no candles or lamps or emergency light or notice to buy your own given that load shedding is a norm, the curtain in room light and street light come through, opening the door and gate is time consuming, aircon not very effective

The water in the shower takes a lot of time to move, end up inside a pool. The wood on the floor and stair ways look old, should be replaced with atleast tiles. The burglar door not locking.

The curtain rod kept falling off when we tried to close or open the curtains.
The place was satisfactory and very decent looking. It suited our occasion. I thought it was private to the extent that we wanted. I really appreciated that the host extended our check out time, which we needed 😊.

They have netflix to cover for the easy view, nice and quiet. Host is really accomodative. Its just like in the pictures... Definitely will come back if im in durban
