BGR - ZULU ROCK LODGE is truly special. We loved everything from the location (the views come second to none), the food was amazing, our suite was stunning and comfortable and our guide (Sbu) was spectacular! It really is a special place, wishing them continued growth and we can't wait to return, to a place that felt like home.

Everything was great - no complaints.

Size and moderness of the room was great. Stunning views. Large bed. They also upgraded us to a honeymoon suite for the night at no extra cost.

As a new Reserve, the animals are a little bit scarce, but hopefully that will change with time.

Cleanliness, the hospitality, love it more like a home away from home

The property was so breath taking, amazing staff great hospitality from the time we got there at the reception they welcomed us with a warm welcome, to the stafff at the Lodge, and the amazing guide we had Theo , the house keeping 👌👌👌 everything was 10/10

Nothing, it so met our expectations and more!

Zulu Rock Game Park was incredible. From the beautifully appointed room with stunning view, super comfortable bed, great and spacious bathroom to the amazing 5 star delicious food and again amazing views from the dining room and outdoor deck, we were so pleased to have chosen this particular reserve. Then the staff, they were so friendly, approachable and in particular our Ranger Sbu was so knowledgable and he knew exactly where to find so many animals. We realised how lucky we were that within 24 hrs we'd seen 3 (elephants, lions and buffalo) out of the big 5, plus additional animals such as jackal, ostrich, wart hog, zebra, buck, impala, kudu, giraffe!

I loved EVERYTHING!

Absolutely everything! The staff were incredible and felt like family. Nothing was too much trouble - they even baked a little cake and sang happy birthday to my dad. The food was exceptional, and the service, top notch. Our daily game drives were mesmerising, made all the more enjoyable by the fabulous Theo! When does he sleep ? That's what I want to know. Anytime you need anything, Theo is there. He is kind, funny, and has a wealth of knowledge on all species, flora, and fauna. You can not go wrong with a trip to Zulu Rock Lodge - 5 star treatment all the way. Man, what an experience!

There is nothing I'd say I did not like per se but I felt the restaurant menus were limited. If a consideration can be made to have more variety, it would be very nice. Otherwise, I am still amazed by the reception we received. Really made us feel like kings.

Wow. What a breath of fresh air. Loved everything about the place. The location is perfect for winding down after a stressful year. Definitely coming back. The game drives were something else. We got to spot a lion and a lioness which was a chery on top. Beautiful and very therapeutic landscape. What a hidden gem. I think next time we need to stay longer.

The weather but that can’t really be helped!!

We could not fault it.. the luxurious room with amazing views.. the fire place that was so cosy during the storms we had.. the food was excellent. I think our favourite thing however were the excellent game drives with Theo. He is such a lovely and knowledgeable guide and we loved birding with him.

The only suggestion we would have is to have a smaller but more varied menu. Over our 4 nights it didn’t change which meant a lot of repetition for someone who doesn’t eat meat.

The reserve is quite new so there isn’t a huge amount of game yet but our stay was a delight from start to finish and the focus the owners have on conservation rather than tourism is admirable. Stylish and comfortable rooms with incredible views, excellent and friendly service and a stunning location made for the most relaxing holiday imaginable

Nothing really. It was a bit pricey, but worth the money at the end of the day.

Amazing calm location in the middle of a truly spectacular game reserve. They are also very community focused, which was a big plus for us.

There is nothing I did not like. Bear in mind that this is a new game reserve so although they have the big 5, the animals are still a bit skittish and not used to vehicles stopping to look at them.

The Lodge sits on top of a koppie, with sweeping views of the valley below and the Umfolozi River. The meals were excellent and well presented. The lodge is an easy 3-hour drive from Durban and accessible off the R68

I dont have any complaints, this place met all my expectations.

Excellent experience overall! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our Game Driver Sibu was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the land/animals as well as kept us safe while exploring this beautiful lodge.

Given that the whole Reserve, in its current form, is only 6 years old there are many roads in the reserve which are still very rough. Thus, the road-network needs attention. It is at times very bouncy, esp. on the seats over the rear-axle.

It is a 5-star experience. The hospitality experience was top-notch. Everything you needed and wanted was there. The meals were excellent from variety to texture to taste to presentation. Zulu Rock was open to dietary specialisations. The field guide provided, Artist, is a real jewel. His innate knowledge of the wild environment made each of the 6 game drives a real Safari experience. His knowledge of game was only surpassed by that of birds. One of the special reasons we went to Babanango.

Wow, what a stay!!!! Already a nice aproach in lvely landscape the gane reserve is outstanding! Very very nice rooms with own fireplace (nice after cool afternoon safari). Phantanstic food, good choice!! Both safaris (morning and afternoon) in beazutiful landscape, hills, river, a liitle of everything. Sundowner inclusive! A really nice, intreresting, comfortable and luxurious place!! Thanks a lot
