Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaMaybe a permanent staff member to welcome guests and take the keys when leaving would help if the owners can't be there as we struggled to find the Lady that runs the SPA to hand back the keys to when we left and had to return to hand it back
Have stayed here a few times. New owner and unfortunately they were called away to Cape Town so we never got to meet them. Room was clean and comfortable and wifi was good, TV only has Netflix and no local or satellite channels but was OK for a 1 night stay.Lush garden which has facilities to braai ( BBQ) but as owners were away all was closed. Breakfast couldn't be served but we were refunded for that and many places in Knysna to eat so no issue. SPA available for those that want to be pampered. There is also a pool to cool off in summer. Room had a fan but aircon would have been nice as temps were high 30's. I like the place so will return if we up that side again.

South AfricaLack of attentioon to detail e.g towels needed to be requested ,fireplace not cleaned until demanded .Braai not cleaned Wifi did not work and Netflix was intermittant .The host did apologise for this .The empty pool was a bit of a worry .The bathroom with an open plan ceiling was not ideal

South AfricaI have stayed here many times but this time was the last time. The place looked run down. the plates in the kitchen are soup bowls. The pool needs a step in the middle. A colourful blanket over the couch outside would have made a difference. The pool is not as private as it used to be.

South AfricaOld marketing material reflects images of facilities that we were used to from 10 years ago. Old pics not showing current state of facilities. No bath in room for instance, where selected room on bookings.com website showed a bath in room. Completely different decor, bed and furniture than what was showed on selected room pictures. No TV in room, although owner wanted to bring one. No hot water in shower in the morning. Gas heater did not work correctly. Pool water was not clean. Lights in room did not all work. Shower door was not replaced but shower curtain was installed in the frame. Garden, wooden decks and overall facility has not been well maintained since we last visited. Covid has probably not been kind to them.
The owner was friendly.
