There was nothing we didn't like. We just felt that a jar of rusks in the rooms would be a nice touch to have with early morning coffee.

My husband and I got an upgrade and our room, The Great Gatsby room was big, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We also had a suffiently equipped kitchen nook. Our friends were happy with their rooms too.

The only other thing that I would have liked is a little extra shade in the garden. There are a few sun umbrellas, but some were broken and did not offer much shade. They were also extremely heavy so their position could not be changed when the sun moved. Everything else during my stay was exceptional.

A beautifully furnished house with very secure parking, the room was large and well appointed. Situated in a lovely neighbourhood, it’s about a 2 minute drive to the local shops and under 5 minutes to the town or the golf club. The breakfasts are brilliant, lots of different fruits, cheeses, meats and breads, plus a cooked option. The pool was a great place to cool off on a summer’s day. Marriette was a very attentive host and couldn’t have done more for us, she even took us to the Doctors when my friend was unwell. The other staff were very friendly and helpful also.

    Can't think of anything.

The breakfast was delicious with some lovely baked goods, oats porridge and a cooked breakfast too. Lovely kind service, and the chance to sit outside around the pool if you like. The decor in the room and the house was very tasteful and made it feel like a real treat to stay there. The pool is well maintained and a pleasure to have a dip in the heat. It is very well located just off the R44 and in a quiet neighbourhood where people are somtimes running or walking around, so it feels safe. Shops are in walking distance.

Load shedding as it is termed is another term for rolling blackouts. This property had daily and sometimes twice daily ones. This meant no a/c and made for hot nights- we were on the second floor facing the street and didn’t want car noise nor do we ever sleep with windows open. We were not aware of this issue in SA but even our next hotel also had similar issues because their generator didn’t cover everywhere in the hotel. This would make me not want to return in the hot months for certain. I can sleep cold but never hot.

😀Loved the breakfast and the staff was very nice. Lots of items to choose from and cooked to order omelets, eggs, bacon, etc. The manager was helpful with dinner reservations and suggestions.. Our room was adequate and loved having a washer. I also had a full kitchen which I didn’t use. we loved having a big frig. We had a car which was nice to go to a nearby grocery. We did walk home from dinner one night. We also used Uber to dinner. If we had alcohol we never drove. SA has a zero tolerance policy. The bed in our room was too soft for me but not for my husband.

Unfortunately, the receptionist told us as soon as we arrived that we would have to pay extra because my son is already 14 years old and is therefore considered an adult. However, we had booked with an age stated, so we found this announcement very inappropriate. We didn't have to pay anything extra either.

The guest house is in a very quiet location, you can walk to the center of Stellenbosch. The breakfast is great, the hostess is very friendly.

It's a 5 star hotel, but being B&B allows them to provide bespoke service and attention to details. Unfortunately we only spent 2 nights there - would love to stay longer. Everything is exceptional: room décor, comfy beds, delicious breakfast and welcoming hosts.
