There were windows in the room facing a path and the road - it wasn’t clear whether people could see in or just that we could see out. Also, we didn’t need the hairdryer much but when we used it it was very loud and there was a bit of smoke as it overheated so it should definitely be replaced.

Everything was superb at the guesthouse. Christine, Loulou and Cheryl were so warm and friendly. The decor is beautiful - stylish and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It looked like art!! The location is perfect - close to the city in an uber while being completely peaceful and tranquil. The room was immaculate. The bed and pillows were perfect for a wonderful night's sleep. The view from the room and the dining area was beyond stunning. Showering with a view of Table Mountain is something else!! I cannot recommend the Bayview Guesthouse enough. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and for taking such good care of me. I will cherish the memories.

For us there were no major issues. The terrace for our room was rather small and not really usable but this was not a problem.

It’s a very attractive modern property with: contemporary art, swimming pool, terraces for relaxing. It is in a safe residential area with easy access to local restaurants, or a 10 minute taxi ride from the city centre. Christine is the owner and readily available to help or assist. The staff are very good and welcoming.

It lights up my day when I get there and see how it is. Down by the Table Mountain, with amazing Table Mountain look no matter when you are in room or at the swimming poor. Excellent security makes me feel comfortable and safe comparing to hotels at CBD, where I planned to stay for a few days. The owner of the hotel, Christine, who is nice, humorous and will welcome you with hospitality but also make you feel relaxed just like you are at home. The employees of the hotel are friendly and good at breakfast. You will enjoy the stay just like I did. It made my stay in Cape Town more than wonderful!

My one small issue was with the host. Now don’t get me wrong we didn’t go without anything and no request was refused but there are a lot of rules for this accommodation as it has recently been refurbished. You can’t use the kitchen which is in the communal area. One evening we was exhausted and ordered a take away and just needed a plate and cutlery. Suddenly the host appeared and explained we aren’t allowed in the kitchen. Like i said she didn’t refuse us and accommodated our request but it felt like we was being watched like children (we are a group of two mums and two friends aged 30+ so it was uncomfortable). You are requested to wear only certain sunscreens so you don’t stain the bedding, only watch certain channels on netflix, don’t eat in your rooms. Recommend reading the rules and knowing what to expect. Of course non of this is an issue of out all day and night and like i said understandable when you spend a lot of money on a property and home but yes we felt slightly uncomfortable and like children.

This property is practically heaven in almost every way. The location was amazing with the most incredible view of table mountain to wake up to in the morning and view of the city lit up in the evening. The chef Sharon and her breakfasts in the morning were the most spectacular i’ve ever seen and tasted. Facilities and amenities were well thought of from a honesty box for spirits, fridges with drinks at reasonable rates, hair dryers, even ice in the freezer if you had one in your room. There is TV with netflix for when your exhausted and a pool (not heated). A beautiful indoor dining area and an outdoor one on the patio. I loved everything about the accommodation.

Christine is a wonderful host and has great insides what to do in Capetown and advises great restaurant recommendations. The room is so stylish, love the decoration,the furniture, the bathroom has a rain shower 🥰 It is our first time in Capetown: the location is great. Quiet, great view, in walking distance to local restaurants and bars. I really love this area. It so cool to explore everything by foot. The breakfast is prepared with so much love! We stayed here 4 nights and we are so happy about our decision.

Nothing it was perfect going back.....

I have lived in 8 countries for 45 years and have travelled extensively. This place was out of this world, and to have Table mountain to wake up to every day was words fail me....so breathtaking. Landlady was Swiss and kept everything running calmly and so clean. Breakfast was fabulous, good friendly place to be. We will be back
