Everything was perfect, very clean, spacious. The owners made seeded rusk and put it next to the tea, coffee & sugar as well as milk in the fridge. Very homily and welcoming. Will definitely stay there again.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like

Aunt Esterina, really tried her best to accommodate us, when we booked in and out, she even went out of her way to clean the pool as it was a bit windy. Homemade biscuits and warm beverage sachets were also left for us in the kitchen! That is really welcoming! I also love the fact that the accommodation has two bathrooms even though we were just two and didn't use the other bathroom for when you are more guests.

There’s a steep driveway that can be challenging to park under covered parking, but if you struggle, Danie will park your car for you. Yes he will, just ask.

Bishop’s Pen takes tourism beyond BnB status and gives hotels a run for the money. Excellent service with the right balance of privacy and helpfulness – really that alone should be worth 10 points. But the unit was so well prepared: Everything was logically laid out and easy to access. From the sweets placed on the bed to the fresh towels and neat and clean bathroom – full credit goes to Danie and Esterina – Danie for his hands on and generous spirit of approach and Esterina for carefully writing out all the features of the unit. You get a usable kitchen, gas heater, cooktop, DStv, covered braai area, extra blankets and pool access in a well-maintained unit. How prepared is the unit for load shedding? They have a full solar and battery backup system so that the impact of load shedding is limited. This raises the bar for all other BnBs. And a small extra that many other BnBs don’t have: They have excellent cable management and labelling of lights and fittings. It’s a small but great touch and full marks to whoever thought of that.

We loved everything.if we could give this place 100 points we would do it.the best guest house we’d ever stayed.it’s 10 min walk to Spar and 20 min to the beach.there’re two bedrooms which are good for a party of four,a sitting- room,a kitchen area which is equipped with absolutely everything:plates,bowels,glasses,cutlery,gas stove ,kettle ,toaster,microwave and even washing machine .each bedroom has its own bathroom. There are hairdryers,iron and an ironing board.the beds are so comfortable .there’s also a pool and a nice patio.everything is spotlessly clean.the area is very safe and really peaceful and quiet.unfortunately,we haven’t seen the hosts during our stay but we were so lucky to be welcomed by their friend and neighbor Carin,who made her best to provide us with all we need and show us not only Plett but also Knysna,Tsitsikamma and much more.as we don’t drive she drove us everywhere.it was home away from home.thank you for everything.we hope we would be able to stay in Bishop’s pen again if we ‘ re in South Africa.Because of such people,their care,attention we fell in love with their country and want to come back .
