Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The beauty of the accommodation- how the surrounding nature has been incorporated into the design which made the entire space feel so peaceful and relaxing Phil & Margi being wonderful, caring hosts! The breakfasts were amazing too! Perfect location to get to Kruger (it’s only a 10 min drive from one of the gates) and that’s where I saw some incredible sightings of animals!!

United KingdomThere is nothing to dislike. It was amazing.
From the moment we arrived we received the warmest welcome from hosts Phil & Margi. Once through the gate, it feels like you have entered a Haven. The lodge is set in beautiful grounds and is so tranquil. Honestly if you want a bit of peace and serenity you will find it here. Phil & Margi are simply wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and they were very patient with all the questions we had and gave wonderful tips on things to do in the area - good places to go as well as advise on places/roads to avoid. Loved the few sundowners we enjoyed with them and listening to their stories. Must also give a mention to the guys who help out around the property. Always friendly and made sure our lodge was spotless each day. Thank you so much for making our stay in Hazyview so special and we hope to return in the future 🥰

My family and I got way more than we expected! Phil and Margi are by far among the kindest and most generous hosts we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. From complimentary refreshments to information to flexibility and beyond – their hospitality clearly sets the highest standards. Bedrooms are amazing, poolside area is lush, tranquil and relaxing, and breakfasts are phenomenal. No better way to start a day on holiday than with Phil's delicious freshly brewed coffee. Can't wait to return.

BelgiumKind staff and owners who are very hospitable. Beautiful gardens in a quiet neighbourhood. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good shower, clean rooms. We loved the breakfast on the balcony overlooking the garden, a bit of paradise. Close by Kruger park entrances and Blyde canyon. We also loved looking around in pelgrim’s rest, yes it’s very touristy but that also counts for me

GermanyMargi and Phil are excellent hosts. We were warmly welcomed by them. It should also be mentioned that all the trips (Safaris, Panorama Tour) and transfers were organized by them, which makes it very easy for the tourist. We got an upgrade and were accommodated in a large house with kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The whole lodge is in the forest and surrounded by nature and animals, which is very beautiful and authentic. Sometimes we even saw monkeys. The rooms were very well equipped and some also had European sockets and not just South African ones. For breakfast there was fruit, some pastries and you could order various egg creations. Everything tasted very good. If you had an early excursion, breakfast packages were also offered. The lodge is about 15 minutes from Phabeni Gate, from where you can enter the Kruger National Park.

Phip and Margie are fantastic hosts, who did everything to make us feel comfortable. You can feel that they love what they do and that they have been doing it for 17 years. They think of every detail. Their package breakfast was one of the best we have ever got. There are just 5 rooms in the lodge, so every client gets a very personal treatment. Sometimes it looks more like you visited an old friend.

We enjoyed our stay at Blue Jay Lodge! Phil and Margie were super friendly, gave us some good hints for restaurants and our trip on the Panaroma Route. They also organized a Safari in KNP for us and provided us a lunch box as we were picked up before the breakfast time. Btw the regular breakfast on the other days was great! The room was large, clean and equipped with everything we needed. We would book it again, if we come here again in the future.
