This beautiful spot is only let down by the fact that we arrived to what we thought was a room with a bathtub, to find no tub. The manager was not on site to check us in, and even when messaging, we didn’t get an answer. We came back to the office when there was someone on site later and told “but you didn’t request one”. As it’s listed as a feature of the room, and is the FIRST photo that shows of the rooms, this was a shock and not a great attitude from staff. They did change our room for us, which was good. This problem needs to be addressed on the Booking dot com listing, though, as it’s very misleading and could lead to disappointment.

The rooms are absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. The bath was amazing (but note, even though the literal first photo of the rooms is a bath tub, and it is listed as a feature on your booking, we found out that you’re not necessary going to get one). The staff at the restaurant were absolutely wonderful and the food was excellent.

Delicious breakfast with great service from Siya. Siya was also brilliant at the bar in the evening and helped us get a fire going in the firepit. Beautiful view of buck in the field right in front of the cottage.

We spent a very wet weekend in the Midlands, Bosch Hoek was the ideal place, they have a lovely lounge with big fires and a cosy bar. The breakfasts were delicious, and we ate out at four different places, but their dinner was the best. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable, especially the huge beds (bigger than a king size). It was excellent value for money.

Our room was right next to the breakfast/reception area so lots of people walked passed it, so could never really open our curtains and blinds.

Wonderful stay, delicious breakfast and dinner! Rooms were clean, spacious and warm as it tends to get chilly in the evenings! Would 100% recommend staying here.

The suppers need attention and to be more varied with bigger vegetable and salad options. The one supper menu said pork fillet but we were served pork schnitzel. Everthing was served with chips. Soup options would have been nice as well.

The pathway to reception and breakfast area is really close to the rooms, so we can hear everyone when the pass by. At least the guests were quiet!

The hotel itself was beautiful! Contemporary interiors in an incredibly cosy setting with firelplaces in the bar and restaurant for those cold winter evenings. There is also a pool to enjoy on the hot summer days! The breakfast was perfect and dinner was delicious!

So we arrived 31/12 New Years eve after 2pm. Our room was not ready for at least 3/4 hour. Then we were told it was a braai that evening at the Resort at R330.00/person between 17h00 and 19h00. Meat terrible and the Resort closed at 20h30 approximately...... New Years Eve with no prior communication when we booked.

Beautiful, tranquil setting. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the linens are luxurious and the beds are super comfortable. Lovely lounge and bar area. Conveniently located to explore the Midlands.

The bathroom filthy. Toilet seat disgusting. Toilet seems like hadn’t been cleaned in months. Brush holder full of filth. Extra toilet rolls should never be put on the handle of a filthy brush holder. Very unhygienic. Shower full of mildew. Very disappointed
