View from cottage is the rear wall of another cottage. Make sure you get front line. Electric hotplate impossible to start.

Food in restaurants. Stove and BBQ. Staff. Things to do.

This place is amazing. Super convenient, clean, safe and huge. My husband is an ultra trail runner and he had no issues having his long runs not leaving the property. We’ve stayed in the retreat cottage and loved the remoteness from the main farm.

The restaurant was very nice, but surprisingly the beef could have been more tenderly cooked.

Beautiful land, open to walking, running and simply relaxing.

Stunning setting with friendly staff. The farm shop is very good and the cottage has all the facilities you need to cook everything, including the braai, which was set ready to be lit each day. We had our 7 month old with us and it was great, high chairs, cots and the room cleaners even washed her dirty bottles we had on the side.

Check out times are very early. An 11am check out time would be far better. Leaving after only one night was hard as it is so welcoming and lovely.

We loved our anniversary dinner at the Deli. The food and wine was delicious and the service excellent. We stayed in Werf Cottage 7 which was lovely and peaceful and had a lovely outlook with the pool close by. The cottage was so cozy yet spacious and perfectly appointed with the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in.

A few missing kitchen items thought would have made cooking and cleaning up easier

Beautiful accommodation and setting. Modern yet organically blends into the fynbos environment. Lovely to be able to cook in the cottage but also have access to the restaurant for breakfast. We loved it!

The site is in a wonderful location, surrounded by mountains with so much space within the estate itself, we stayed in the retreat cottages, across the road from the main site, but so peaceful, with a willing mini bus ready to take you around as needed. We hired bikes, went hiking, wine tasting, had some amazing meals and the kids had a ball. Breakfast was great, lots of choice cooked fresh and served not far from the rooms. We really enjoyed our time here and would love to return, thank you to everyone who made our stay.

Our Cottage veranda faced the back of a row of Cottages (which had garden/pool views), so no views to look out on. Confusing email communication before our arrival regarding the "'Farm" tour which was included in our booking, but on checking the timings of this and being told reservations needed to be made, it was changed from being a "Farm" tour to be a ''Garden'' tour, which I queried if it was the same or different, but no satisfactory answer was ever given. It ended up being a walk around the immediate vicinity of the main restaurant and Hugenot Manor House buildings which was disappointing, as we had anticipated a safari vehicle tour of the main ''Farm'' estate.

The Boschendal estate is situated within a beautiful mountain setting with its immediate gardens undergoing redesign and regeneration. Our Orchard Cottage was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The staff at the accommodation reception were most helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. An unexpected complimentary farm shop gift basket with a bottle of wine at our Cottage (a birthday/anniversary surprise!). The Farm Shop is well worth a visit to shop in.

Becoming too touristic, the farm lost its charm I knew from a few years ago.

The Retreat Cottages are very nice and clean. The transfer between the retreat and main area of the farm went fast and promptly. The breakfast was good but not amazing. The personal didn’t bother to tell us what we can order.

If the price for the overnight stay would have been a bit more moderate, we could have stayed 2 nights to enjoy the whole farm even more.

We had an incredible stay at the Boschendal Retreat Cottage #2, which was spacious and very well equipped. We were even pampered with a welcome basket that was full of local products. The breakfast buffet had a varied selection and was very delicious. The garden and the mountain view was amazing.

Avoid Orchard Cottages 5, 6 and 7. They are beautifully appointed and decorated - but, their only view is the rear wall of another cottage in front.

Fabulous location accommodation and facilities. You will not be disappointed staying here. We had an early challenge with the initial allocation of our accommodation - but the staff made a very quick change to our benefit with the minimum of fuss - excellent service. Indeed all of the staff are excellent. The food is excellent whether eating in the restaurants of buying for self catering in the accommodation. Good location for exploring the winelands. Highly recommended.

The retreat restaurant food was fairly good, but service was inconsistent at times. Bedrooms were too small for suitcases so we had to open in the kitchen area.

Very comfortable and roomy cottage with outdoor decks both sides to enjoy the amazing views. Comfortable beds. Bath in the ensuite was useful with a toddler as many other places didn't have. Very idyllic and relaxing place. We spent nearly a whole day at the adjoining wine estate for tastings, lunch, art gallery, etc.
