Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaI didn't like the state of the toilet, it was not really clean. And if they could provide an emergency light or candle to supplement load shedding. Other than that it was great.
Location was not bad at all, I liked the fact that the tigers and lions road most of the night. Especially in the morning, and they were right next to me room.

South AfricaThey don't have soap in their bathrooms. And we were made to share the space with someone who didn't plan correctly, was a bit uncomfortable but not that bad since the space is plenty.
The space is really big for the price. Truly worth it. It is clean. The service is lovely, very friendly, always checking on us. The food tasted yummy, generous portion sizes - had Portuguese chicken. The beds were comfortable. Having the lion cubs around is also a nice touch.

South AfricaIt was clear that Covid realities have damaged the resources available to have the facility at optimum level. There is improvement of maintenance required, e.g. the entrance to the park can be so much more inviting with very little effort. Maintenance of our unit was lacking a little on door locks that needs tlc. We were there on a Monday evening. Due to less traffic, services are reduced E.g restaurant/bar/shop. Liberty, the receptionist offered to arrange that the above are availed should we so request. It is thus clear that the will is there, but the covid damages still has operations reeling. May they recover soonest.
We were very well received by a most friendly gentleman, Liberty at Reception. He made us feel very welcome. He explained to us all we needed to know and answered all questions we posed. The facility in which we stayed had a wonderful view over the park. We were able to see lions and tigers in their camps. The walkabout tour to the lion/tiger/leopard/jaguar camps was absolutely amazing. Lawrence, the tour guide never grew tired of our many many questions. He was well experienced on all aspects we were interested in. His answers were clearly sourced from a well informed basis. He clearly enjoyed his work. The tour ended after more than an hour, when we were given an opportunity to actually handle Bengal tiger cubs. What an amazing, unforgettable experience. The evening ended with a wonderful braai with a most beautiful sunset to our left. We felt so much part of a bush scenario with many, many lion roars breaking the silence of the Bush night. What an experience. Never to be forgotten. May Boskoppie Lion and Tiger Park go from strength to strength, because they really do have something very special to offer. We certainly will promote them actively and will also visit again in the future.

South AfricaWhite Linen on bed was not very clean and we were dissapointed about that, there were old stains on it- looks like blood. I am sure that if this was checked we would have received clean linen on our bed. Shower was not working nicely, hot water was leaking all the time, not very joyful to use the shower. Overall we had an nice stay Thank You

South AfricaThe chalet could do with a bit of an upgrade. A layer of plastic between the thatch and roof made it near impossible to sleep during a very windy evening. But the beautiful surroundings, lions/tigers on your doorstep together with the friendly staff made it well worth the stay.
We loved the guided tour. Lawrence was an excellent tour guide. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

South AfricaNo privacy at all You can hear everyone at all times Place was not clean at all Very small fridge, honestly don’t know how you are supposed to put all your groceries in that small fridge and we were only two people ! Entire place needs a lot of tlc! Braai area is very uncomfortable as you can see into everyone’s houses staying there I was extremely disappointed, we paid for 3 nights stay and we only stayed one night and rather decided to go home The tour to see the lions in my opinion is also very expensive

South AfricaThe accommodation was not as what is advertised A very big disappointment. The accommodation was very out dated, room was very mouldy. An ant infestation so bad they were in the bedding every where. Fttings and electrical appliances not working. The wifi is non existend. In fact I was so disapointed and had I not traveled so far to the facility I would not have stayed there.
The animals was the only highlight. We'll looked after.

South AfricaThe chalet is old, run down and dirty! We slept on top of the bedding luckily I had my own blanket and pillows. The facility where they keep the young cubs was horrendous! Cubs was full of their own faeces, mud, flies totally not up to standard, we felt so bad for them. There were kids in the area where cubs are kept they were chasing and mocking the poor cubs all over the show, my daufgter was actually crying when we walked out of tge enclosure. This is not conservation it is money making! We were not even asked to sanitize before going into the enclosure. Will not return and I truly hope tgat someone will intervene!
The only nice thing was the bar with viewing deck and friendly staff.

United KingdomThere is absolutely nothing to dislike, everything is fantastic.
They advertise "sleeping with lions etc roaring" is an understatement. This is a life time experience that I highly recommend. Besides from the "cats", the facilities and staff are exceptional. Thank you Elizabeth for all your hospitality. It was 5 star.
