Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgThe creativity and attention to detail in the apartment. The accommodation is not luxury but pure tranquility and coziness. The wonderful garden. The tranquility and perceived seclusion despite proximity to everything necessary. The host is an interesting and really nice guy.

South AfricaThis is only a draw back if it concerns you (which it did not for us) but there is a composting toilet in the house (very clean and effective)
An experience that will stay with you! Robert, his family and their beautiful piece of land is a inspiration for burgeoning homesteaders and horticulturists. You'll want to stay longer to soak up the relaxation and stories / learning from this warm host :)

United KingdomNothing. It was perfect!
Words cannot do justice to this place - phenomenal, a labour of love, a feast for the senses - you have to see it for yourself! This beautifully hand-crafted wooden cabin is a sanctuary for the soul, a chance to stop and take pleasure from the small things in life while immersed in lush, natural surroundings. The attention to detail in the cabin design is astounding and the addition of treats such as bananas from the garden, a hand grinder for the coffee beans, and an exhilarating outdoor solar shower exceeded all expectations - even the composting toilet smelt sweet! Our boys loved running about the expansive tropical gardens with Robbie's son and the family's warmth and generosity of spirit radiated through the place. Suffice to say, from the first few moments after arrival I knew I had not booked enough nights. There are loads of things to do in Storms River if you want to, but we actually scaled back our plans so we had more time to just sit and enjoy being at the cabin. I urge anyone considering this place to book and experience this delightful rustic retreat.

IsraelTwo main practical issues The toilets are "dry toilets". Too hard core for me. I expect after using the toilet the staff won't stay there. The cabin is very ecological. There is no acoustic isolation in the cabin (between the bedroom and rest) and outside. Besides the nature noises (birds...) as it was raining all night, it was very loud ( metal roof). That's not a problem for people who don't mind the noise like my husband who slept very well
This cabin is truly a gem. The neighborhood is pleasant, when walking to the cabin surrounded by a mini forest, over a small deck bridge, on a small stream you already fall in love. The cabin is great, from a fairy tail...my daughter said it's her childhood dream....full with vintage stuff like coffee grinding machine, axes, etc. A relaxing pillows corner, sofas. The seating area outside was very nice near the plants (however as it was raining, we couldn't some of the time, and inside there is no place for eating).

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike!
Wow, what a find! We absolutely loved our beautiful piece of paradise in the centre of Storms River Village. Robert has built a unique magical cabin which brings you back to nature. The accommodation and surroundings are wonderful and made exceptional by his personalised tour of his garden and his son's amazing tree house. We were encouraged to forage and explore the garden. We truly wanted to stay longer than our planned two days. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay, we hope to return one day!

South AfricaSuch a superb rustic and quaint little cabin!! Robert is exceptionally knowledgable and a tour around his garden is nothing but delightful and an education! Carmen and Robert are superb hosts and a big thanks must be given to young George who was such great little lad, so well-mannered and exceptionally welcoming to our two kids (5&9). Our kids didn’t want to leave and neither did we!! Everything was unique with a hand-made touch. We loved our stay!

South AfricaRob built the cabin himself and you can see it is a labour of love. Nestled in a magical garden. You feel as if you are in a tropical forest and completely isolated. Rob, Carmen and George created a piece of heaven on earth. It is an absolute must visit. Robs knowledge of the flora that he curated so incredibly is an absolute education. Rob's love for what he has created is very contagious.

United StatesI was totally blown away by the cabin. It's even cuter in real life! The host and his family are very kind. We had such a lovely time just enjoying the cabin and the garden. I loved picking the berries and salad leaves that were available for guests to pick. We stayed 2 nights but I could easily spend more time here. Storms River was my favorite town along the Garden Route and the cabin is an easy 20 min to Garden Route National Park. It's also possible to do hikes around the town. I stayed with my 2 siblings.

GermanyLiterally nothing
Robert, Carmen as well as George enabled us to have our most memorable stay during our 10 day vacation in SA. This place was far more than what we expected. The cabin was breathtaking! Located further back on their property, it is within a cute and beautiful woods, has its own porch and is built in the most thought through way with SO much love to detail. Adding to that, the vision Rob has to tell is so very interesting and on point. We cannot thank them enough for providing such an experience.

South AfricaWe did not enjoy the compost toilet very much.
The wood cabin was very creatively built by the owners and full of little things to explore. Lots of effort and creativity went into the decoration of the cabin. The owner was very friendly and gave good advise on the area and places to see and visit.

South AfricaThe compost toilet is strange to get used to. Although we loved the design of the stairs going to the loft, it is perilous. The loft beds are rather short for adults.
Most unusual hand-built eclectic space. The outdoors deck with rustic square table offered a sunny spot on a winters day. The highlight is the French wood-burning stove inside that warmed up the cabin beautifully. Linen was crisp and white.

South AfricaFor our family of 4, and considering the wet weather we had, the cabin was just too small for us. With the load shedding the water supply was interrupted (obviously load shedding is no fault of our host) Also, the compostable toilet ,for the unit to take a family of 4, does result in a constant residue odor. For our family, it just wasn’t our ideal fit.
