It is a bit far from the main busy part of Umhlanga but I believe this is actually a plus.

The Breakers is at the quieter end of Umhlanga which I prefer. It is a great location overlooking the nature reserve and has many pools (one heated) and lots of space to relax in the gardens. Lots of activities and a great restaurant. Staff are very quick to help with any issue.

The room was a good size with good bedding and amenities. Enjoyed the kids play area especially with my little one. Unfortunately we only spent one night so we weren’t able to use the pool and most other facilities.

Volleyball court in bad condition, please do invest in this, people can't play at night as the lights don't work.

Hairdressing and spa staff were a little less helpful and friendly

The waiters were very friendly and efficient. The resort was family friendly and well maintained. Reception staff very helpful.

By changing the blend of the roasted coffee beans the taste of the brewed coffee served in the restaurant can be improved.

Our apartment had a great view of the ocean and we watched the movements of the various ships dropping and weighing anchor. We also watched the various activities in the pool areas. From our apartment it was easy to walk to the Umhlanga 2.5 km path along the beach.

the bathroom space was too small. floors weren't properly cleaned as I walked bare foot on the wooden floor first day and my feet were like so dirty.

Breakers used to be fantastic but since the passing of the previous general manager & Vacation Resorts & Booking.com, the resort has become,”Tired”. At weekends it can also get extremely busy as they allow non residents in to use the facilities & the noise & disruptions are not good.

Didn't have a dish cloth to wash out dishes in the room which seemed counterintuitive when you had soap. Unfortunately we were there during the anc conference so Saturday late night partying on the balcony kept us up. Not having enough back up lighting or inverter for TVs during load shedding is not a great experience. Just one light in the lounge is not sufficient.

First time returning in maybe a decade and the up keep has been great. Facilities,etc are a perfect for a self catering stay.

The staff was really asleep, we got there and booked in at around 5pm on Friday then 1. After checking in our room, received a phone call how are we paying, when we showed the guy at reception it was paid in full on bookings.com. 2. Our day 2, when we went out the morning and come back to room, the door key didnt want to open, back to reception again, the guy just placed on the card 1 night, where we actually booked for 4.

Close to the beach, easy access. Daily change of towels and bed! Safe. Pools. Spa. Restaurant.

Not a problem but would need to drive or get a taxi into town center in the evenings. Hotel bar closes a bit too early @ 17.30 Were given the option of a smoking room on booking but on arrival we were told it was a non-smoking hotel and had to go outside to a smoking location. Would receive a fine if we smoked on the balcony.

The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. Facilities are great with loads of things to do to keep you busy. It is a good walk to the lighthouse and centre of Umhlanga but not strenuous along the promenade and eateries avaliablein other hotels along the prom for refreshments. Lovely little cafe along the boardwalk when turning left out the beach entrance.

Initial flat dirty & needed modernisation. Fortunately Breakers staff sorted it out & moved us.

When I was moved to a decent room it was fine. But booking.com had double booked the flat I was supposed to be in.

Hotel cleaning staff shouting and talking to other staff in the hall way at 7:45 am , Just because they awake at that time does not mean the guest that have come to relax and sleep in need to be awake. This is not normal talking this is shouting and laughing to each other 20m away from each other ....yes i went out to check what the commotion was about

The fact that you had no halaal eating areas within your hotel. i see alot of Muslim families supporting the hotel.

We like the pool area. The fact that we were close to the beach. the fact that the entertainment for children was provided even though we had no children on this trip we would like to come back with my son and our grandchildren.

Reef Cafe meals not worth the price I.e. chicken mayo sandwich leaves alot to be desired. Complained sent back and the exact same was sent back saying it had been fixed along with an apology (was not) - photo taken of end result. Another waiter brought back the plates not original waiter who seemed upset and was letting it being known.

Location was lovely, staff were friendly and always there to assist with a smile.
