The host is friendly and the room was outstanding. Small touches like fresh milk in the fridge, comfortable bed, private parking, close to Clarens centre (walking distance), spotless bathroom and great surroundings. Also an exceptional leather shop in the building.

The only setback was the TV channels. I love football and there was no channel for sport. Perhaps, smart TV can assist. This is also a cheaper option for the guesthouse. Guest can watch through their dstv accounts by streaming. Otherwise, good place.

Absolutely nothing

This hands down has to one of our most incredible stays so far. This is 100% due to our hosts kindness and the amazing location and beauty of these rooms. You are within walking distance of everything within Clarens. The host Cass is also the most helpful and bubbly human who will help you with your every need. If you are looking for a place, you have found it, book it and just enjoy.

Some slight maintenance could be done - shower door didn’t close properly and the one bed side table lamp’s globe did not work. But these were all minor things. I would still greatly recommend the place and we will definitely be back!

Everything was great quality, the sheets on the beds etc. The quadruple room was also very spacious. The wooden covers for the windows were also amazing and kept the whole space nice and dark for a good sleep in. The safe parking at the back (which was also undercover) was also great.

The stay were perfect. Location is walking distance from restaurants and shops.There is secure parking behind a security gate with a remote. The facility is well litt, and we felt safe with the entrance arrangements. The host were very accomodating answered our questions and were available immediately via whatsapp. We loved the electric blankets on the beds, and this helped us feel warm and comfortable on a realy cold night. Coffee and tea making facilities were a save as we left early the next morning and could at least make a coffee before leaving at 06h. The teenagers were super happy with the in house wifi too. We had a lovely stay, and By The Way Guesthouse and B&B is definately recommended for long and short stays.Thank you.

With our visit being during winter, we specifically looked for a place with a fireplace. The (expensive) wood purchased from the guesthouse was so wet that it was impossible to start a fire with the very limited amount of fire-starters we were given. The photos of the location/guesthouse led me to expect a better view.

Room was very big and comfortable. Cleaning services were great. Location is excellent if you wish to be within walking distance of town, shops, and restaurants. Your experience will be better in the summer.

I couldn't find a corkscrew! The shower pressure was a bit lacking. Otherwise not bad at all.

The fire place was great and the apartment spacious. It was comfortable and well located. No fuss stay!
