How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Beds were to small. Consider a queen size bed. Television in room not working. Television in living room difficult to operate. Especially DSTV. Wanted to watch the rugby

A room for 4 with a 2 seater couch A bigger couch would be great
Loved everything, starting with the staff, most lovely, kind and helpful people . The whole stay was very pleasant and I can't fault it. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Had a very pleasant stay.

The units close to the street are a bit noisy if you are not used to moving traffic. Some of the curtains are not block-out curtains making the room bright at night (some may like this but we didn't).
The location is great, very convenient with lots of restaurants in a walking distance and a mall should one need supplies. The apartment was well stocked with complimentary treats.

There was nothing not to like. Property was neat. Comfortable and had everything you need to make your stay more comfortable. Security was always there if needed. Front desk staff where friendly and always help
Location was excellent. The Rosebank mall was a few feet away with everything that you need. Are was very safe. 24/7 security by the property as well as security by the Rosebank Mall always ready to assistant if needed.

The only issue we had was with the generator failing to start during loadshedding so we had to walk up 8 floors to get to our apartment. Apart from this, our stay was enjoyable.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. There is a Whatsapp number you can contact throughout your stay if you need any assistance, which was a great touch. The apartment itself is modern and clean. It's also located right across the street from the mall

Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Showers have a very fine spray, and temperature of water is very low. Quite annoying as you have to take a longer shower as you don't warm up, so it defeats the purpose of saving water. Would definitely not stay here in winter months! No air-conditioning, so very hot at night and you cannot open the windows as it is fairly noisey at night. Very easy to gain access via the security gate as no checks are done.
The location is great, very close to the Rosebank mall. Very neat and clean and well maintained. Well equipped, good parking.

The apartment had a code system on the door and the receptionist could have been clearer with how to operate the locking system.
The location is ideal. The checking in process was seamless and the host was very helpful.

The corkscrew was broken, housekeeping should check thoroughly after a guest checks out. I did not like that I had to send pictures to the reception of the opener and the cork in the bottle to prove it was not me who broke it. On a positive note, they sent a replacement immediately.
The decor, beds, cleanliness, everything was almost perfect.

There is no mirror in the smaller bedroom. Curtains over the blinds in the bedrooms would be great.
Excellent location and spacious apartments which is ample for 2-4 people.

The TV didn't have any channels. The room was serviced the first day...the 2nd day the beds were made and nothing else...rubbish bag left on kitchen floor,basin in bathroom left filled with water.
The apartment was spacious. The staff at reception very pleasant.

Extra blankets would have been nice. Shower water was lukewarm. Recommend adding single beds in one of the rooms.
Perfect location. Mall is within walking distance. Great restaurant options. Backup generator worked well. Clean and tidy.
