How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Camelot is a beautiful place, situated in a very peaceful area. The guesthouse is very clean and is equipped with all the necessary items required for a self-catering unit. The garden is very nice and the pool clean. The host was helpful, kind and assist when required. A home away from home, therefore we will definitely book again with Camelot when travelling to Cape Town.

Lovely and large cottage looking onto the garden. We really enjoyed our stay here. It is walking distance to constantia village and Jackie was very friendly and helpful

Jacqui is a wonderful host. The accommodation is very spacious. And we loved her dogs, to play with in the garden. Convenient that Constantia Shopping Village is at walking distance.

Everything was wonderful!
A stunning guest house! Camelot offers a very comfy bed, a spacious shower, and a luxurious living and kitchen area. I loved the dressing table and beautiful bedroom.

Everything was just 👌 perfect really enjoyed our two days there , will def be back again comfortable

The cottage is spacious with everything you need and in a great suburb. We really felt at home and our kids enjoyed playing with the dogs. Jacqui is a wonderful host and we would certainly book again.

Nothing, I found it to be fantastic accommodation and will definitely stay there again.

Great location. Loved the pets coming to visit us! Very comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen, but it seemed to have everything one would need to cook. Very spacious for a couple.

all great thank you we couldn’t swim in the pool as the weather was too cold but it looked amazing.
everything ! Jackie is incredible host ! our young son was constantly playing with her patient , well behaved dogs ! it totally made his stay :) in the most amazing garden. the beds and bedding was so Crispy and comfortable ! better then Mariott hotels ! we loved it. all super clean , comfortable and peaceful and private. all fantastic ! thank you

There was nothing to dislike. I would have preferred that parking was easily available inside a gate or garage. There was no remote available to get in and out of the garage although the hostess was kind enough to let us in and out of the garage when needed.
Friendly hostess. Everything we needed was available. Very clean. Beautifully furnished.

Jacqui is a very lovely host. She gave us a lot of advise about what to do in Capetown and Constantia. She is very friendly and was in for a chat everyday. The house has everything you need and the garden is beautifull. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who’s visiting Capetown.

Wow what an excellent accomodation. Such a beauty, everything perfecto. The accomodation has every basic need catered for, If you've forgotten your shampoo dont stress the host has it for you. The host recommended beautiful places to visit and took us on a beautiful tour around the house.

The fact that we couldn't stay longer. Hot water pressure to the kitchen sink was low but nice and hot when it arrived.
Outstanding, spacious, & luxurious property in a prime location & within walking distance of Constantia Village Shopping Mall & restaurants.The two family dogs were a bonus and the pool and garden were enticing. JACQUI is to be congratulated on running such a good property in her friendly, efficient and smiling way. She could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much bother for her 11/10.
