Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ZimbabweLack of attention to details. I ordered specific breakfast on 2 occasions but got different orders. Although, on the first night i clearly explained my dietary preferences to the Chef. Other than that, the dinners were exceptional. Further, for some reason, they kept on harassing me to make payment to the lodge although the reservation was made through booking.com and confirmation of payment was shown to management!
Beautifully furnished and clean room.

CanadaThere really isn't anything I think they could improve on.
Everyone working at Jabulani goes above and beyond for their guests. Due to the limited number of rooms, each guest receives personalized attention from dedicated staff. Within a few hours, you're on a first name basis with everybody working to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, since its only 3 or 4 people that are dedicated to you during your stay. The game drives were so much fun, and our guide Joan was exceptional. He immediately built a rapport within minutes of him picking us up at the airport. Not only is he a fantastic tracker, but he has a level of charisma and personality that really made our drives entertaining. The food was probably the biggest positive surprise for us, as Jabulani's chef Henlu provided an exceptional culinary experience. Each meal was different and delicious, not to mention very generous. We ate until we felt like we would burst, and then tried to keep eating because the food was so good. Do not skip out on his snack platters! The wine selection was also quite good, with a very broad inventory of local producers. Other members of the service staff (Shadrick, Chantel) and management provided personalized service that really made our stay feel special. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and we really enjoyed the outdoor plunge pool. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations, and we will certainly look to come back to Jabulani the next time we are in South Africa.

United KingdomBed was a bit hard but that’s really just personal preference and noticed most South African hotels are on the ‘hard’ side. This isnt really any complaint
Where do I start… most incredible place I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was INCREDIBLE. We had the best Ranger (Ryan) ever, so full of energy and made our experience one never to forget. The Chef (Henlu) was the nicest guy you could ask for, our butler (Obert) also one to make us smile at every turn and would get every single detail perfect without flaw! We had the best time ever and couldn’t have wished for a better way to finish an amazing Honeymoon. Thank you so much

CanadaNothing - it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life
Once in a lifetime truly amazing experience! Every single detail was truly perfect, the highlights were of course the amazing safari, the exceptional staff and superbly delicious food. It was really a 5 star experience with every aspect of the trip fully included and at the highest level. Ryan our game driver was the best - he went out of his way at every moment to make sure we had the most enjoyable experience and it wouldn't have been the same without him. He had great finds of animals and was a wealth of information - we saw the big 5 in our first day! He is funny with a great personality that made the experience even better than I could imagine. Chef Alex - The food was exceptional, we couldn't miss a meal and always looked forward to what he created. The best food I have ever had at an hotel or all-inclusive experience. He was able to customize any meals for my partner who is vegetarian with ease. Songs (our butler) - Really took care of us and made each dinning experience even better, with his kindness and great personality. His wine recommendations were always spot on. Also to mention the heated pool was a major bonus - with so much time spent going on game drives I am sad to say we only got to use it once. The price did seem expensive when booking - but when you consider how many game drives we got to do, the exceptional meals we had and the amazing service it was really worth every penny.

DenmarkI loved everything. I only wish that there were more interactions with the elephants, such as walking alongside them during their daily excursions into the bush. That would be heaven!
Jabulani Safari is a once in a lifetime+ experience. If you love African elephants, it is one of the best places to be able to experience them simultaneously with staying at an exclusive luxury safari property.

United StatesJabulani Safari is a place where incompetent management are staffed. This property should not be a Relais & Chateaux property as it fails to meet basic needs and expectations. We came here to celebrate our honeymoon and they completely forgot. On the day of our arrival we had a random travel reviewer join us in our game drive during our honeymoon. Our ranger was inexperienced and took us on the same exact drives during our stay. Game drives were uneventful, repetitive and lacking excitement. No uniqueness in our game drives. Animals are not able to roam freely between Kruger national park and the greater area. Jabulani Safari is located in an area where animals are fenced in and can not roam to other reserves and the greater Kruger area. We stayed at another luxury property, Pondoro Game Lodge which truly exceeded our expectations and delivered the fundamental values of what a Relais & Chateaux property should entail. Unfortunately, Pondoro is not a R&C property. The staff at Pondoro were exquisite, friendly and were happy to be working there. Whereas the staff at Jabulani were clearly segregated between the races and did not seem happy to be working for such property. However, the true icing on the cake was Barbara, who not only forgot to tell the lodge it was our honeymoon, but she also lacked any competency in technology. We paid in full prior to our arrival and she couldn’t locate it and tried to charge us again. She continuously harassed us to submit another payment via a secure payment link. I did not feel comfortable inputting my cc information to run my card for a second payment when it was already paid in full and charged to my bank. She couldn’t understand the difference between a secure payment link and a confirmation link. Thankfully we contacted the third party Booking and they confirmed that we had paid in full. She did not care to locate the payment but could only “advise” us to run our card again.
Property was nice but compared to Pondoro, Jabulani was meh. Food was excellent. Meeting the rehabilitated elephants was great.
