Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaThere was no TV remote in the room. Once we received one from reception it sort of worked for a couple of minutes then did not work again. The shower head sprayed all over the place thus we ended up having a pretty wet bathroom floor. This was report to reception on check-out.

South AfricaNext time I visit I would like to see an improvement on the following: 1. A working fan 2. The toilet in the room I stayed in needs attention 3. The shower needs to be scrubed properly. I had to go buy a hard bristle brush and bleach and cleaned it myself. I am a hygiene freak, and a slimy shower isn't ideal for me. 4. A Chanel on the TV or some radio options would.be awesome! 5. Being a frequent traveler, the pricing per night here compared to what I got before was not comparable. Maybe if the above was in order i would've been happy. But let this by any means not take away from the fact that I will definitely visit again in the near future. I just believe in honest reviews.
The staff were incredible!!! And the location top notch. Breakfast in the morning was nothing short of amazing and whatever brand of filter coffee they use was outstanding!!! The location of the hotel also incredible I found out way too late that the pool was perfect temperature too!!! What stood out for me was the the older gentleman that did the maintenance. He came up to me one Sunday morning and asked if I would like one of those sun lounging beds and they put it right outside my door for me. That forced me to take a little time out to enjoy some rays in PE. Much needed!!! It's the little things that counts! Thank you Chapman Hotel and Staff... You'll surely see me in the new year!!!

We met the owner and he is an exceptionally friendly man. Portia who assisted us is fantastic and friendly as well. Well worth a visit and stay at this hotel.

New ZealandThe room is in desperate need of a refresh. We didn’t even want to use the bathroom, with how dirty it felt. The beds sunk down in the middle. While there was an ocean view, the balcony was filthy with rubbish on it. Milk was provided in the room, but no tea or coffee.

South AfricaPictures online make the accommodation look a lot better than it actually is. Pool also looked huge but is tiny We arrived in the rain...not their fault, but there is no under cover area so we had to firstly walk in the rain to the reception area which is not easily accessible and then in the rain upstairs and along open corridors, so we were soaked by the time we got to our room. The aircon in our room did not work, so I called reception twice but no one answered. I did not want to walk through the rain again. We could not open windows, due to mosquitoes so the room was very hot and I battled to sleep. They advertise free wifi, which is available, but they don't tell you that it is not sufficient to stream Netflix. We ordered croissants for breakfast and they had run out
