Everything from the colorful design of the living room, the self catering unit, braai facilities. What a beautiful and well-kept living space. It was very very clean and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. The town is small but it is the quiet side of the country that I was looking for to have quality time with my wife as newly wed couple. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Breakfast is a good effort but quite plain, with low quality ingredients. The gym is very basic. The lodge is load-shedding proof, but the main generator only works from 17h which doesn't help you during the day. The internet only works intermittently and made remote working quite challenging, often reverting to mobile hotspot.

We used as a base for a nearby music festival. The lodge is filled with antiques, and well decorated and furnished. There is safe inside shaded parking. Staff are friendly. Room was comfortable and had a usable kitchenette, however it lacked many utensils to do any real cooking. Bathroom was comfortable. Aircon in the room was great.

The downside was that Guests booking in after hours were Extremely rowdy & inconsiderate!! The fridge shouldve been switched on before Arrival! Dinner wasn't that great ie. Chicken Cordon Blue dry, Chicken Burger Roll was far too small. Waited far too long for our meal. Boiled potato was still hard, No Garlic Butter/cheese added. D/bed mattress was also too small especially when both are Big!! Quite noisy from the Main Rd. Sounded like we were in a Tavern. Front gate a bit concerning regarding being open & No security at the gate.

I liked the options Laura gave us regards to the inside self catering & outside which outside suited us just fine until the noise started when the Locals started getting drunk! Staff very willing to assist, accommodating & friendly.

Bar fridge could have been switched on when we arrived. Nice to be able to put some chilled drinks inside, rather than waiting for fridge to cool down for hour.

The dinner options and food quality in the Restaurant was better then expected. We had a lovely time.

Nothing, I really enjoyed my room.

I opted for a stay without breakfast so can't comment on the breakfast. All thanks to Lorralee who managed to get not just one room but all 3 of our rooms ready ahead of check-in time, that with a full hotel the previous night. Thank you very much Lorralee!! We managed to get to the wedding on time. I was looking for you the next morning, but you weren't working that morning, I think. Thank you again. Hopefully Sadie and I can stay again at some point, would be lovely.

The Country Lodge is an oasis of order in contrast to the decay of the town of Citrusdal. Friendly and helpful staff, good food (has oxtail, very tasty and tender). The room as comfy, just wished for a window/fanlight I could open overnight, for fresh air.

Staff taining can get some attention and the approach regarding option very limited regarding restaurant menu and particular staff on duty during my supper.

I can't complain much except for the style of floor bathroom tile used. It can be slippery especially when moist from the shower steam so put some towels on the floor to walk on. Otherwise, you can take the establishment and put it in Cape Town and it can compete against the top establishments therein.

Food was good. Rooms were good size. Lots of antiques on the premises almost felt like I was back in time. If I'm a music video director I could use this as a location. Film my star singer using the old model phones.

My family enjoyed the pool, the place was very clean and neat, the gym was a plus / highlight for me. We had such a relaxing weekend all together. The staff were amazing. Will definitely go back during holidays for a long stay

Not much to do for kids besides swimming. The TV and channels could be better and gym area is occupied because they renovating. So hopefully in future that will be sorted. I think they can make it a bit more vibey at the bar area maybe with some music.

Loved the calmness and the staff is awesome. The pool area is really nice and relaxing. It's nice for if you want to just relax. The owners have lovely plans for the place. The breakfast is lovely
