How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The outside bathroom and shower for the single room☹️

I couldn't take a shower that evening when I arrived. The water was cold. I would have preferred to have a microwave in my room to warm my dinner. The apples and pears were tiny and bad quality.
It was nice that breakfast was included. Breakfast was not that great. The staff were okay, not really friendly, but helpful. I liked the room, it was comfortable.

If microwaves can be put in each room not to have a common one. If possible, when booking there has to be a way where it shows that the room you are booking uses a shared bathroom and a toilet or not for you to be able to choose the one you prefer.
The breakfast was perfect. The fact that they were able to cater for me as l had exams and allowed me to take my breakfast with as l did not have time to eat early in the morning but after the exam, exceeded my expectations. Best location ever as it was just a walking distance to the mall.

The shared outside bathrooms, which forced me to upgrade, and that stretched my budget.

There was a smell in the room and passage which was like that of an air freshener constantly being released. It was overpowering for me. I think that it should only be in the passage but stay out of the rooms.
I loved the cleanliness, the peace, the location and the delicious breakfast!

The fact that our rooms had no bathroom inside or a toilet. I had to wake up and pee outside 🥴🥴the room. Another thing, shower was so small.
I was very worried about an iron😀😀I got so excited when they showed me where I will iron if there’s a need. Such a beautiful, quiet place and their breakfast was very nice with a friendly staff. It is good place to be at.

I didn't like the outside bathroom facilities. There was no privacy regarding the room. Bored cos I had no option of watching TV except I only had SABC channels available.
The stuff was very friendly, absolutely loved them. My room was clean and tidy, enjoyed the peace and quiet environment. The ladies helped me with taking care of my luggage for a couple of hours when I went for a training 😊 love this. Couldn't have breakfast cos I left very early. Definitely recommend.

Everything was good except breakfast.
It was good and service excellent,but breakfast was very small for an amount of R100,compared to other places.I prefer it to be a buffet,that will be value for money

Breakfast is served for 2 hours from 7-9am, and the staff seemed more in early to take it away, I guess eat it themselves. No phone contact in the rooms. You have to move out to go talk to the reception . No bathing gels supplied from the initial ones availed when I booked in, yet I stated for five days

I would say they can update the tv's and maybe put some extra channels in like movie channels maybe openview.

The breakfast lack variety..just a sausage, fries early in the morning and only 1 egg with no extras like baked beans or mashroom. Useless TV as it only play SABC channels. no plates in the rooms.
Bed was comfortable, small fridge inside the unit, good ironing facilities and fair breakfast.

The room I was located in did not have the good view, I can only see the yard and not the city view. The rooms did not have cutlery that one can use during the day not sure whether we were allowed to ask for such. We only used the bathroom sink water for everything, whether drinking or washing. Their lack of trust was quite off.
I enjoyed their breakfast, they have very nice nice combination. The staff was really friendly, welcoming and loving The wifi was very good

Coming back around 22h00pm finding the gate locked with no security to open for us was the pits. Ended up hooting and screaming at the gate for attention which was obviously distracting other guests but we didn't have a choice we were locked out. Took about 10mins of screaming for the security guy to come and open. Breakfast needs some improvement.. Fruits were not fresh
