This stay was the soul recharge needed after a busy year. The peace and tranquility surrounding us in all directions, the chance to let our hair down and truly unplug from the hustle of city life was priceless. We stayed in the Library cottage, which was tastefully decorated and had all the modern comforts. No TV and the kids didn't even notice. Chantelle the farm manager was exceptional and ensured we had fresh meat to cook on our arrival on Christmas day. The farm gifts were delicious and included whole fresh milk, delicious olives and olive oil made on the farm. The weather was a bit chilly and we had the opportunity to light up the fire place which just added to the cosy ambience of the stay. Highly recommend a stay at Vrish Gewagt if you're looking for a unique way to re-energize your spirit and a truly memorable stay.

The fact we had to leave.

Wow, there are not words to describe this majestic farm. Home away from home and even more. Spoils of beautiful, stylish accommodation, indoor fireplace with ample firewood. Complementary olives, olive oil and wine as well…Load shedding…what was that? You didn’t even notice. Most quiet peaceful place with views that one can only dream of combined with farm life and little critters. If you need to unwind, this is most definitely the place to be. Chantelle the farm manages, she went above and beyond her call of duties. So friendly and accommodating. Homer our fur baby loved every moment of being free and meeting a buddy there on the farm (The farm dog). He even met cows and sheep for the first time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My fiancé is into Astrophotography and I’m telling you, the stars are so bright and untouched by city light pollution. I could go on and on about how amazing this place was. It was so sad to leave. Let me tell you that the 4-hour tip from Cape Town is well worth it,come rain or sunshine. You will most definitely see us again. I can wait to show your beautiful place off to friends. Thank you so much for such a beautiful unforgettable stay.

We stayed in Cooks Cottage. The decor, lighting, bathrooms, bedrooms, crockery, extremely well-appointed kitchen, delightful outside patio, and spaciousness of the 2 bedroom unit were all lovely and well thought through. The farm's olive groves and surrounding mountains are enchanting. The team on-site went out of their way to make us feel welcome, accommodate our requests, and inform us about the various fully organic produce and exquisite olive oil they sell....which we subsequently ordered and purchased 😀 Thank you for a memorable stay. We shall definitely be returning and will continue ordering from you!!

The cottage is situated on a beautiful estate and is lovely! All the details are so well done! We enjoyed the outside shower very much. And the Nespresso coffee machine so we could enjoy our cup in the morning with an amazing view. There are a couple of swimming/cool pools in different spots at the estate and there is a round one on top of a hill we enjoyed very much! Chantal welcomed us and she gave us all the information. The cottage is half of 2 cottages, so if you're traveling with other people that's perfect. This place is everything you could wish for! Thanks!

The load shedding. A big problem in South-Africa. But the owners are planning to install an inverter.

The house was fantastic. Beautifully decorated. Foreseen of all comfort and with a swimming pool. Absolute silence, the ideal house and location to relax in the magical Karoo. Chantelle the manager was really great and showed us around on the farm. Lovely person.

Perhaps the only thing was no backup system (maybe solar) iro loadshedding events.

Great location in amongst the olive trees. Excellent facilities. Lovely staff who were most helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, could only spend one night.

this is a beautiful cottage in a stunning location. it’s cosy and perfectly equipped. we had everything we needed including olive oil, olives, fresh milk and lots of wood. it feels like it’s a world away. we didn’t want to leave.
