We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Breakfast was good and the location perfect. The tranquility of the lovely garden and little lake makes it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The shops and restaurants are walking distance. Also the security was good. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable.

Well located. The central pond provides a lovely ambiance. The pool was cold but inviting. The service at the restaurant was excellent, with exceptional dishes. The fish, ducks and geese were a welcome sight. Overall a great experience.

South AfricaI booked rooms 1 and 2 as both contained a television and fire place. When we arrived, the lady told me that room 3 would be better for my kids as it had two separate beds. What she failed to mention was that the television did not work in room 3. I asked her if the only difference was the beds and she said yes. When we realised that the television in our children's room did not work, we informed the management and they said that the children must watch television in our room. I booked the two rooms with televisions as it was advertised as such and did not appreciate the way and manner our rooms were swopped without a full disclosure of the amenities that did not work.
The area is very beautiful and the restaurant's food were excellent. We enjoyed our stay for the most part, save for the swopping of our rooms which tainted our stay a bit.

South AfricaOn arrival the person at reception was not aware of our prepaid booking and kept telling us that there were only two more bookings to check in on that date and we were not one of them. I showed her the confirmation email. She then phoned another person telling her that there were people who wanted to check in who allegedly paid for the night. I stepped outside and phoned the number given on my booking. The guy confirmed our booking and I gave my phone to the receptionist to talk directly to the agent. The receptionist told us that it was not her mistake, but the second time it happened that week. Meaning (as we understood) that the mistake was on booking.com's side.

South AfricaOne down side, however, is that the restaurant (which is now run as a separate entity, which we did not know) was a disappointment. The food was great - the service abysmal. One of the reasons for our choosing the lodge was the opportunity for the fine dining experience at the restaurant - and reading the website still gives the impression that the 2 are part of the same entity. We were very disappointed
