Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesA T. rex roaming the Reserve would have been entertaining....
The communication with the host Anika und her father Johan was perfect from the beginning. Within our arrival to the gate of the Private Reserve Johan was there to open for us. It was a bit like a scene from Jurassic Park movie (minus the Dinos): we drove through the gate and before our eyes opened a landscape with rolling green meadows, interspersed with large acacia and Mopane trees, teeming with free roaming wildlife such as Impala, Kudu, Eland, Zebra, Warthog, Bushbuck, even Giraffes and countless bird species. We were speechless. The room we booked turned out to be an entire 2 story house with full fledged kitchen, several bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a large living room and a very nice patio with sun lounges. Wildlife visits the terrace frequently and it is very safe to watch them. During a game drive the first day we got stuck with our car! Anika and Johan answered our call for assistance and Willy provided instant help pulling us out using his Landrover working horse. Willy invited us for a game drive the next day and shared his vast knowledge about the hidden gems of the Reserve. As a surprise he stopped at a little river and cooked a typical South African Braai (barbeque) with Ribeye steak and incredibly flavored "boerwoers". Breakfast is freshly prepared every morning a few miles down the road at their restaurant "The Farmers Fork" and leaves nothing to wish for.

South AfricaWe had an extended power cut, beyond the host's control of course.
The location is beautiful, the house is gorgeous with everything one needs. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the place, watching game roaming around within reach. We had a beautiful, relaxed weekend. Great and helpful host. I will be recommending it to friends and family. We also will be back when we need to get away from the busy city life.

Outstanding location situated in a game reserve with daily view of springboks and even giraffes. very quiet, great scenery, you wake up and know immediately that you are in a very special place. super clean and beautifully decorated. Johan and his daughter Annika are very friendly hosts and have great advice for things to do. DenmarkThis is not about Cwebile guesthouse but about the Drakensberg region generally. Be aware that you will need a sturdy car to get around. You will need to drive on roads with big pot holes and on dirt roads that can get slippery after rainfalls.
We had a wonderful stay. When booking, we were unaware that Cwebile Guesthouse is in the middle of a private game reserve where wild animals roam around freely in numbers! So that You'll for sure see giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. The surroundings are just stunning. The room is spacious and feels luxurious. We had breakfast in the hosts' restaurant. The breakfast was extraordinary and made for the best possible start of the day. We particularly loved avocado and poached eggs on toast - but really - we ate our way through the breakfast menu and you cannot go wrong (everything from Mexican beans to overnight oats). We were also lucky to be the only guests during the time of our stay. This way we could fully indulge on using the daybed on the terrace for a glass of wine in the evening or sitting on the sofas in the common area for reading or screen time. Johan, Anika, and Louis were perfect hosts. We were active hiking during our stays and Cwebile is conveniently located in between Royal Natal and Cathedral Peak national parks.
