Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaNo water when loadshedding occurs (The host at least did let us know).
Our host, Delyse, was very accomodating and kind. Dinner was superb! I loved the "Honesty Bar" area. We stayed in Room 5 and everything was very comfortable, with a modern rustic feel.

South AfricaLoadshedding is currently a major pain, and affects the flow of water in the accommodation, a better system to provide updates to guests around the schedule, or a way to keep water flowing when the power is off would be a welcome update. Maybe backup power for pumps and lights.
The location is idyllic and pastoral; a relaxing environment in a farm setting, plenty of walking to do, and good opportunities to ride mountain bikes. Lots to keep young children interested while they explore in a safe space. Dinner was first rate, and reasonably priced. The break was pleasant for standard fare, good poached eggs!

NetherlandsAlthough we loved the dinner that was organised for us, we would have liked to maybe have options to choose from instead of a set menu.
We loved everything about our stay at Dalmore! The service was amazing, Delyse really helped us with organising our activities and looking restaurants in the area. The farm pets were very friendly and added to the farmy-feeling of our stay.

NetherlandsMaybe the rental of mountain bikes can be introduced ? Or a boat/canoes on the Spioenkop Dam? When traveling from overseas it would be a big plus for the people staying at Dalmore.
Loved everything, the food was amazing, and I loved the walks and views of cattle and space.

South AfricaEverything was great! Very friendly and welcoming.
This is my fourth stay at Dalmore Guest Farm - my previous three stays had been overnight stays and I so enjoyed the three nights (and days!) that I was able to stay this time. The perfect place to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature - I loved the herd of Nguni cattle that were in a field directly opposite my cottage, and the visits from the Dalmore kitties and dog. I had lovely walks to the dam, and a beautiful swim in the pool. There was a delightful Belgian tour group staying at the same time, and it was so great to see tourists back and travelling in our beautiful country. What wasn't so great was a couple of guys from Germany who stayed one night, had dinner and wine, and left very early the next morning without having paid a cent of their bill. I truly hope that Dalmore was able to track them down and that it was an honest mistake, but if not, this truly was disgraceful, especially when our hospitality industry is trying to recover after Covid, and when visitors from overseas have such a great exchange rate to work with for their holidays.

South AfricaOn arriving, we were greeted by friendly staff and sense of calm in the air. The grounds were beautiful. Our 3 daughters (6 years and under) had the best time play with the animals (specially Wilson) , swimming and exploring on their own. Very safe location. The food offered was incredible and well worth the price. The dam 4km away is a good outing and a fun walk for the family, with horse, buck and cows to see along the way. The owners, Andrew and his wife, were kind and friendly, always available and willing to assist with any of our needs. Will definitely recommend for families looking for a peaceful getaway.

NetherlandsThe only downside is that you have to negotiate an unpaved road for 6 km to arrive, but if you drive carefully you will manage with a normal car.
Very nice location, you can relax if you want, but also a nice base camp for hikes in the Dragon mountains. Breakfast (included) is excellent, but also the evening dinners (menu of the day) are always a pleasant surprise. The lodges are comfortable and spacey with a nice view over a meadow, where white herrons and Ibis feed.

NetherlandsBe aware of the fact you're really in a farmers area. The farm is on a dirt road and for European principles a bit far out of Bergville and Winterton (if you would want to go there for quick groceries or easy dinner).
The self catering cabins are really spacious and give you a feeling like coming home, also due to the fact the dogs and cats come to greet you frequently :) The pool area is super nice to end your day after doing some activities in the Drakensbergen. The bed was very comfortable. Owners are really friendly and quite funny with their communication on site.
