How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Was very overpriced for size of room, did not ask for a quiet room. At R3500 per night should have a TV with viewable channels (even a limited bouquet), should not have to connect to your own DSTV or Netflix account.
The concierge was very helpful and tried her best to make us happy, and restaurant staff were lovely.

Nothing that I can think of.
The continental breakfast in the morning was nice. Staff friendly and helpful. I didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting. The shower was the BEST I've ever had in all my years of travelling. Best bathroom.

Maybe be more clear which menu items are included in the breakfast as seems the included bfast is limited with everything else paid optional.
Lovely apartment Hotel, very nice hot water pool downstairs. Everything else was satisfactory..

Maybe consider Dstv package for more variety to watch.
Most beautiful view. Very nice and convenient accommodation with lots of extras. Staff very kind and helpful. Enjoyed every moment!

Bath plug was not working properly, could only fix the next day. Breakfast is only continental, English breakfast will be more appreciated.
Great spacious room with a beautiful sea view. Linen and towels were of excellent quality. Neatness of room was exceptional. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Maybe you could invest in just normal 4 slice toaster you would save electricity , the industrial toaster is terrrible , i put the bread through three times and not toasted at all. When we left there was no one to help with the luggage. One person brought the trolly up and left. The lift was continually broken , being on the third floor didnt help.
It was a continental breakfast which was lovely and well prepared . fruits etc was nice and fresh and neatly displayed Thomas was great, Maybe at the price a standard breakfast would have been good.

bath tub - bath plug wasn't working, needed to wait for next day for them to fix it. Breakfast must pay extra for eggs and bacon.
Rooms was very neat and clean, excellent linen and bath towels.

One of our lights in the room didn’t work and the water took ages to drain from the sink, so there needs to be more attention to details. Oddly, the pillows were super king size, but the bed was queen size, so they overlapped a lot!
The view of the ocean was great, though you can’t easily access the beach from there as other (albeit low rise) properties line the coast. The hotel has been recently refurbished. Food was tasty and good value for money.

our booking confirmed a specific room with a King size bed. Unfortunately the room we got hade a double bed....very snall and unusual for a hotel
breakfast was good however, it didn't include various items that are standard for a breakfast eg cappuccino

Just remember to check if your allocated room has shower or bath.
Staff and owners went out of their way to help and during Ironman 70.3 weekend offered shuttles and early breakfasts.

The young woman at the front desk profiled my friends and I by turning us away by saying the hotel was full without even looking for a reservation. She insisted that we were at the wrong hotel. When I showed her the reservation on my phone, she magically found the reservation in her computer. She was extremely helpful after we proved we belonged, but maybe in the future, with customers of color, ask for a reservation number rather than try to send the customers away.
The location and the room were very nice with amazing views. The food was also excellent!!

The hot water took very long to reach the bathroom…. Was worried about wasting water so made do with cold.
Location beautiful and easy to find. Had to leave before breakfast but a packed breakfast was provided and it was perfectly adequate.

Breakfast was only served from 08h00 and even at 08h00 they were not ready. Indoor swimming pool was not operational.
The location is excellent and the view is fantastic. Staff is very friendly.

The double bed instead of a queen size bed. The continental breakfast with very little to choose from. Limited TV channel selection. The hand shower over the bath.
