Unfortunately due to the location of the apartment, natural light was hard to come by making the rooms quite dark and cold. The ground floor created a lack of privacy due to the windows looking out into the parking lots. However, that cannot be helped. Whilst the decor was absolutely beautiful with many a unique touch, it made the bedroom feel a little pokey.

Location, amenities, cleanliness, safety. The dressing gowns were an awesome treat that we used every day!

We stayed in dk villas Riverview for three nights at the tail end of our trip around The Garden Route, just before departing Cape Town and flying home. Staying in this property truly was finishing our trip on a high. This was, hands down, one of the most beautiful apartments we have ever stayed in, and the attention to detail throughout, was mind blowing. First impressions upon entering the property - the decor was stunning, it was so clean it was as if we were the first people to ever set foot in the place, and it smelled amazing! There was a true boutique hotel feeling to this apartment, with the added advantage of all the home comforts you would want while self catering. On a practical level, we couldn’t have asked for more. The apartment was generously kitted out, with modern and high quality appliances and equipment, the lounge area was really chilled out, and the bed was super comfortable. The property lends itself to an extended stay, a home away from home of sorts, and so, our only regret is in the brevity of our stay! Another important element for us was security, and this property was probably the most secure location we stayed in on our travels. Lastly, and most importantly, what really stood out to us, was our host, Johann. We have never had a more sincere welcome, and the level of professionalism was a breath of fresh air. Johann provided us, not just with a place to stay, but with an experience in its own right. Johann’s energy and vigour for the product he offers was palpable, and we were really made to feel welcome. It made a huge impact on us to be welcomed in the way we were, instead of the usual ‘key is in the lock box’ instructions. We were personally checked out at the end of our stay by Johann, which we also massively appreciated. What stuck with us also, was the humility in Johann actively asking us for constructive criticism on any aspect of our stay. We had absolutely none to give however!

The main bedroom was slightly smaller than anticipated.

The interior was spotless. The attention to detail on the finishings in each room was impeccable. It was comfortable and truly felt like a home away from home. The appliances were state of the art and every aspect of a comfortable stay was thought of by the hosts.

With the apartment being on the ground floor and quite close to the parking lot, our bedroom view is just that - the parking lot. However, it's a convenience if you're loading and unloading lots of luggage.

The decor is French Victorian inspired so it was beautiful. They've thought out every necessity to ensure one's comfort during your stay and the convenience of stores being a walking distance from the apartment earns an extra star. Also, we loved the complimentary bottle of champagne 👌🏾
