We did not have electricity for first night. The baby did not sleep at all as if she was seeing things.

We couldn't stay here we had to leave even though we booked for 2 nights we were forced to stay 1 night because there is about 13km of gravel road to get to this place. The pictures on the booking.com website is absolutely deceiving, this is a motel not a hotel and definitely not even 3 star, accomodation was terrible, bathroom was disgusting no hot water and noisy all night couldn't even sleep, the food was fine though

There was nothing to do... There was load shedding so cold showers no TV No power no lights they didn't consider a generator or some back up lights my kids wer scared

The cooking. For dinner, We were served burned mutton that had been cut up with a hammer, dry and full of bone splinters, old soggy vegetables, the whole lot doused in huge quantities of cheap packet sauce. Horrible. At breakfast we both asked for soft eggs and crispy bacon, no toast. We got hard eggs, raw bacon and 4 slices of dry old leathery toast no butter. Sadly there is no self catering option with no other places to buy a meal nearby, so sadly the cooking renders this place an avoid for us.

Fabulous location, lovely room with the most fantastic double shower and fireplace. Plenty of open lounge areas, pretty walks. Well run lodge let down heavily by terrible food.

Facilities are a bit outdated. Only one contact number is not good had to wait almost 20mins by the gate cz the fone was not going through as network is bad. Please put an alternative number

The room could be better. The wifi didn't reach the room, an aircon and TV in the room would have been great. There's a general feel of the place being old - although its well kept, it can be better. Perhaps some decor - the mirror in our room seemed damaged...etc. Just some small touches which could make the place even better.

The food was great, i liked the variety in the dinner menu - it was always something to look forward to and it didn't disappoint. The fireplace in the room was great - we kept nicely warm and all the staff members are genuinely friendly and serve well - this is a real highlight.

Road was a bit of a test if you dont have a vehicle built for it. Price was a bit steep as well.

Meals were good, scenery was spectacular and the staff were extremely pleasant.

The food, in my opinion was not great. We have been to the lodge previously and there has definitely been a decline. I believe this to probably be due to covid and various travel restrictions

The lodge is spotless which is a huge plus. The view is incredible. They are trying very hard in trying circumstances

Baths towels they provided were minute hand towels, not cool in the middle of winter, and the heater doesn't really warm the room. Plus please warn motorists on exactly how long and bumpy that gravel road is. It almost does need a 4 x 4

the house must have the TV or radio just cuddle in bed with partner and have quality time. the directions short cut and road should be suitable for both cars. please add horse ride on entertainment

The place did not live up to my expectations. They did not cater very well for vegetarians. Overall I was disappointed for the price that I paid. I have been to better establishments for half the price

Very special place! The View of the Drakensberg Mountains is just breathtaking! And in the morning wild horses add to that impression. Owners Paul and Patricia create a warm and familiar atmosphere, with good talks at the bar. Also really great food, with special ideas for vegetarians.
