The place was freezing. Dining room was 8c and we were told the heating can only be put on once the dining room was full (orders of the owner). The log fires had wet wood which obviously gave of no heat. When we went for dinner we were told that Rugby was on so the deep frier couldn't be used to make chips as it would trip the generator and upset those watching rugby in the pub. I feel this venue survives on passing trade in the Summer so standards don't have to be maintained.

Maintenance of the facilities is lacking No card payments possible at restaurant during loadshedding. Linnen were clean but stained. Only lukewarm water in the shower in the morning- possibly due to loadshedding No backup lights in the room.

Toilet seat was broken. Toilet leek and floor was wet. Was not informed that the front door will be locked at certain time. The person at reception was on his phone every time we went passed. The breakfast and service was disappointing. The Lodge needs a serious revamp.

The booking was incorrect I booked 2 rooms we got one room. After I complained they moved us to a 2 bedroom chalet but the place we very cold. First of all, check in from 2pm and rooms were not ready until 7pm....we were only been able to be assisted to finally check in after 7 pm after requesting 2 rooms then being accommodated with a chalet. We had to go buy wood to make the place warmer. The breakfast service at the restaurant was bad as we sat and waited up until almost 12pm for breakfast. I had to call the waiter and ask when are we getting our breakfast after waiting for more than a hour considering the fact that check out is at 10am. People left and we were still waiting. Breakfast came without bread when we just finished our breakfast. We are extremely unsatisfied with the service at this accommodation and service. Please ensure better service and delivery for future clients as we are regular clients, visiting various places.

I didn't like the effect that Eskom will follow you like a thief in the night!

Staff was exceptionally helpful and polite, being in nature, and hearing the river all day was so relaxing. The food is perfect and good quality, I really can't complain. And it is pet friendly!!!!

I didn’t like it when I had to leave the property, I wanted to stay there forever.

I was in the Switzerland earlier this year and went to the Alp’s, now being a South African Citizen, I can honestly say that this view was better for me than in the Alp’s.

There was a few little issues that was concerning which was mentioned to the owner, he got back to me and ensured me that it will be address. It was appreciated that he contacted me personally... Very professional and appreciated.

Everything was beautiful, the scenery, the tranquility, the staff and the food at the restaurant was to the tops. We will definitely visit again.

They want to book us into a cheaper room without saying anything. When I asked they said there are no rooms available because of booking. Com made a dubble booking. After I complained and said it is not what I paid for he said they will pay back a difference. And all of a sudden he said he will make a plan. When we arrive at the room he said we must let them know if anything is not working. Should they make sure before booking in the guest? They TV didn't work.

We had B&D...no choice in the matter. French toast was served and not to our liking as we don't eat breakfast this was. Would have rather preferred a fried egg, sausage and toast. Room we stayed "Room 10" had no TV in when we arrived, although is was sorted out afterwards. Bedding had black stains and the bed I feel needs to be changed as the mattress is way past it's deadline. A fair amount of cracked tiles in unit. Not very pleasing on the eye. Reception is not what I expected, we arrived with no one at the desk, rang the bell, no one came, I eventually asked one of the staff if there's anyone who could assist.

The surrounding views are breathtaking. As for the rest, I'll leave it there...

I liked that it was pet friendly and accommodating to that.The staff was friendly and always there to assist. It felt very chilled and homely in a way. They even had a live band :) The place has amazing beautiful scenery.

The space was very run down and felt unkept. we were not given any instructions nor were we showed the amenities or where to have breakfast. there was no drinking water in the rooms and the pillowcases had black marks all over. The toilets also smelled very bad.
