How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Updates on booking.com to be up to date. A mention that you cannot have any visitor as my brother came to see me and the reception of him being there was Firstly not welcomed without my prior knowledge, secondly he was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed as we literally were waited for to instruct him to leave. The explanation was due to previous experience, bearing in mind we hadn't disrupted even the church mouse with my partner, had to basically come to a decision to host just a simple chill between myself, partner and just my brother, elsewhere. I was told guests come to visit and do not leave hence the rule which was never stipulated. I felt somewhat looked down upon in terms of behavior expected from me and also given I wasn't even hosting a party, as I was already suspected of, bearing In mind only one visitor (my married brother) and during the day even. I really didn't appreciate being guarded like I was to do wrong, which I wasn't as a decent adult. I really do love the property and I would love to come back. Mostly, if you are honest, you are frowned upon, but I would like to start off on a different foot again.
I did not have breakfast it was self catering, very peaceful area, would have loved the room by the pool but I was overall satisfied. Would come back again. The staff was very sweet and hospitality on point.

I didn't like that we couldn't contact someone directly to assist us upon arrival, but had to wait for someone to be sent to assist us. The dish cloth was dirty and had stains on it.
I did like the prompt assistance when we needed an item that was not available in our room.

As mentioned above just little TLC tender loving care needed upon entry with couches.
Clean and spacious. Friendly staff. Suggestion of more teaspoons if 4 people are booking and setting out 1 more toiletroll. There were 2 but 3 would be nice. Rest was all fine. Beds were comfortable and sheets clean and soft. The 2 couches on verandah look a bit sad, maybe a wooden coach with loose pillows or cane set would look friendly as this is the first you see upon entry.

They charge 100 extra for air conditioning like why they don’t just add it to the booking price. Most channels didn’t play but supersport was playing so I wasn’t affected by my lady was

That we had to pay extra R100 to use the air conditioner.The right corner of the double bed we slept on hit on my leg and hubby kicked it with his left pinky toe trying to pass. You used the olden steel base instead of the ones used now.
We were welcomed well and the place was clean. The location of the property is very quiet. The rooms were very clean. I'd recommend it to my friends and family members.

The gas stove in one of the units did not have gas, but the other unit had portable electric two-plate which we could use.
Facilities were good. We were well received. The staff were friendly and were always willing to help. Rooms were kept clean and the environment is good.
