Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNot much to complain about at all. My only comment would be that I thought the charge for heating the hot tub before arrival should be included in the price for the night. Although I understand the desire to minimize wood usage if guests are not arriving on time and using excess wood.
Great location, comfortable, a lot of effort has gone into making this spot beautiful. We arrived after dark so we could not take in the view while enjoying the hot tub but saw the potential the next morning as we could see down the valley from the cottage. Lovely spot would definitely stay again!

AustriaChoosing Equleni Guest Farm was one of the best decisions my boyfriend and I made on our trip. It is a beautiful place in the middle of nature where you can relax and just sit with your thoughts for a while. If wanted the hosts provide you with fire wood, braai food, a heat up service for the jacuzzi and much more. There are also some nice walks around the farm that lead you to waterholes and so on. Definitly recommending this place!

QatarWe had an absolutely amazing stay in the Cabin. It is the furthest unit, at the end of the farm with beautiful views of the Rondevlei, with absolute privacy. The Cabin is spacious with two beautiful and fully equipped rooms and en-suite bathrooms; a kitchen and dining room with everything you may need - and more. Apart from ‘the normal’ milk, coffee and tea, they provided perfectly measured sachets of filter coffee for the plunger, complete with packets of biscuits and a pot of marshmallows. It has a nice balcony /deck area with comfortable sun-loungers and a gas bbq with little table, equipped with all braai tongs and dishes, put ready. Just off the terrace is a braai / fire pit with a wood fired hot tub - which was pre-heated when we arrived…. It was the absolute highlight of our trip. It was amazing to sit in the hot water, glasses of wine in hand, admiring the stars in the clear skies or listening to the birds chirp away. The whole weekend was absolutely amazing with every possible comfort because everything is clearly very lovingly furnished and put together. In addition to the facilities described on their site, there are so many little touches and nice surprises to be experienced. Hint: order the breakfast! It is AMAZING! Hiking is available on the farm and in the adjacent Wilderness National Park. We did not have personal contact with the hosts, but the communication was amazing and prompt via WhatsApp.

South AfricaWould have liked the bathroom to be more private with walls to the ceiling.
Our cold and rainy late afternoon arrival was met with cozy well equipped living unit, a steaming pool and a gas braai. Complementary filter water on tap, milk and filter coffee provided over and above normal tea and coffee. This establishment offers packed self-cook meal options for supper and breakfast.

South AfricaNOTHING! It was perfect.
Equleni Guest Farm A GEM! Coming from a hospitality background it is not always hard to go on holiday open minded, as you have a trained eye for detail etc. I can happily say that this was THE BEST holiday we have had!! The Or hid studio is a secluded gem, surrounded by a lush garden. The cozy interior designed beautifully to fit the farm-style, was SPOTLESS! Not a strand of hair, dust or any creepy crawlies in sight, despite it being in the midst of a gorgeous farm surrounded by wildlife. The continental breakfast was served delicious treats, on a large tray of mouthwatering goodies - it felt like we were dinning in a five star Resturant - and the romantic turndown was magnificently done with proteas, hearts chocolates and some sparkling wine - which we enjoyed in the inviting hot-tub (a must) under the stars. The setting is magical, the scenery breathtaking and the ambience serene. Just what the soul needs! We will be back :)

United KingdomThe information on booking.com was a bit misleading as it doesn’t specify individual cabins. We spent our first night in a small cabin which faced a garden and not the view we thought we were getting. But the hosts were brilliant in moving us into a a better cabin at no extra cost with little extras to compensate and make our stay truly special.
Lovely spacious cabin with everything you could possibly need. Lovely views and very responsive hosts. The hot tub, which we paid extra for, was a highlight of our trip.
