To be honest, our bathroom was a little dated and the small pool not particularly inviting, but as a brief stopover in a very convenient location it served its purpose well.

We booked this place as our last night before flying home, just to break up our long drive back from the Garden Route. It's an excellent location with Stony point penguin colony just down the road (we saw more penguins here than at the usual Boulders Bay), and the excellent Harold Porter botanic gardens a few km away (definitely recommended), with the bonus of the lovely Clarence Drive coastal route back into Cape Town. The hotel itself (note this is actually called Fijnbos LODGE on most maps and on the building itself), was friendly, comfortable and good value for money.

We liked the breakfast, but was very basic and can improve as the owner makes it himself. No restaurants for dinner.

We had an amazing stay at Fijnbos Manor. It is very peaceful and the staff(William) was very helpful and kind.

Unfortunately the shower and the basins did not drain. William was very fast to respond with plunger and assist with the issue.

Close to the restaurants, close to main beach, lovely run to the penguins. Very comfortable beds with William being very helpful when checking in with recommendations and assitance.

Location great. Rooms are really spacious with great outside balcony. Coffee in the room - a winner for an early riser. Great meeting Paul (the owner) and reminiscing about life! Michael was an absolute star and so helpful- what a gem !!

Nothing really as I got what I needed, peace and quite.

Perfect place for peace and quiet with a couple of restaurants around the premises. Big room and very comfortable too. I also ordered dinner, and it was just a delicious home cooked meal.

Limited privacy - guest house style so close proximity to other guests.

Comfortable clean room, staff were friendly and accommodating, relaxed environment, lovely breakfast. Owner was very welcoming and hospitable. Great value for money. Good location - walking distance to main beach.

It was advertised as a lodge but it was more a BNB and I never do BNB .. that was a little disappointing.. we wanted more privacy.. however the experience was not bad at all..

I liked that it was friendly and cozy.. I could relax and enjoy the use of this property ..

Room cluttered -we booked a room with 2 queen size beds as didn’t want single beds -the beds were not very big for 2 people sharing a bed .Carpets were dirty.Breakfast not worth it .

The facilities were rather old fashioned. Door handles need replacing, TLC needed, but the situation is understandable what with Covid.

We were the only guests and enjoyed the solitude of the pool. The Tapas bar (Gnocci) across the road was fun.

It would have been good if I was shown the place besides the room, given WiFi pin, shown the braai and pool area. I discovered these facilities on my own.

We understand and support the need for cost-cutting measures in these times. The only small disappointment was the artificially flavoured pink yoghurt at breakfast

Breakfast was delicious and perfect for our needs - several choices but not 'over the top'. Position is optimal; the fact that we were the only guests for some of our stay, suited our needs for a quiet rest and retreat very well. The veranda is perfect for relaxing, working and enjoying the view (and birdlife!). Staff (William) was an excellent host; always responsive but never intrusive.
