How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Excellent place to stay in St Lucia. Staff very friendly and could not do enough to help. They even helped so much as to arrange trips and came to our aid when a taxi to Durban was required at relatively short notice. Very clean and pleasant place to stay with great facilities

Not only was the facility amazing, the hospitality was of the best I’ve ever experienced, which made the stay all the more amazing. I will certainly return again.the breakfast was done with care and attention to detail and the staff went out of their way to make our trip memorable.

The only slightly negative thing is that the cupboard is very small and not suitable to hang clothes for 3 nights for 2 persons (we had to live out of our suitcases!). But this is a small thing compared to the nice set up of the lodge.
We had a wonderful stay at the lodge! Good service, good breakfast and clean and beautiful rooms!

We really enjoyed our stay although the weather wasn’t the best. This Lodge is perfectly situated close to everything in town, yet not right in the centre so quieter.

This is a truly amazing place to stay, I loved every minute of my holiday. The staff are professional, friendly and so helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The atmosphere is warm and it is like a home away from home. The breakfast delicious. I highly recommend staying here. I will definitely be back.

It was incredible. The manager was efficient and helpful with sending us our quotes as per all our specifications. Provided a lot of helpful information. Arriving the manager was so friendly and helpful her customer service was tops. She gave us a tour and explained how ever works and where everything is. Always kept us up to date of the loadshedding schedules even though there was a generator and Solar, we never worried about having power. In your room they have a file for you with all the information regarding Forest Villas and St. Lucia for all the activities available in the area. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Had an amazing and confutable stay and the breakfast service and food were amazing. The pool lounge area is breathtaking. Forest and villas is definitely the place to go when your soul needs rest and rejuvenation.

Wonderfull Host, helped with everything, especially during an emergency. The rooms were very nice. A solar made loadshedding no problem. Special breakfast with many options was a wonderful start into the day. We felt very much welcomed.

Brilliant stay, a little gem for the price I paid!!! I booked a solo room (which I was still given 2 double beds) room was gorgeous with modern clean bathroom. Host was very welcoming too, nothing too much trouble. Only thing was I could work out how to get hot water in the morning but it was fine a nice cold shower woke me right up at 5am to go on safari!!! Would recommend and if I go to St Lucia again I won’t be staying anywhere else!!!

Lovely place in St. Lucia with tropical garden and swimming pool. Very helpful to organize Safaris in the area. Very welcoming when we arrive. Very good breakfast. Clean room and bathroom . Free Parking in front of the building.

We arrived to a well presented. Extremely clean place. The host was friendly and made us feel welcome right away breakfast was awesome and served fresh and hot every morning. The rooms were cleaned daily, every night after a full day of sight seeing we were able to sit and relax at the pool. The rooms are modern and up to date. And noise is limited to normally everyday sounds.

Would just upgrade satellite tv packages otherwise it is a lovely family place.
These guys go out off their way to accommodate their client. Breakfast was delicious , lots to choose from and coffee aswell. The rooms were nicely fitted and we saw hippos. Highly recommend.

Great place to eat, meet and appreciate different folks from different parts of the world, as folks spend time in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World heritage site in KZN South Africa. This lodge with its tropical feels, make it easy to feel right at home. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was amazing!
