We were looking for self catering and the kitchen was fairly poorly equipped. We would suggest to either remove the self catering option or to improve on the knives, pots, cutting boards etc:)

Lovely views of the river, the tents has everything you want.. air-conditioning, a good hot shower, comfortable beds and pillows, a pool that is good for young kids (shallow and deep pool sections) and adults, a bar, and hosts that have a good life story and big hearts for what they do.

Wonderful oasis along the banks of the Orange River with exquisite views. Dirk & Stephanie assisted by Fabs (& delightful 4 year old Jadyn) were engaging and entertaining hosts and we had a fabulous & very relaxing weekend

Friendly service and helpful even to the extend of giving sound advice for our trip to Namibia. Meals were superb! The facilities were well prepared and the neatness of the resort was evidence of the devotion of the owners.

I could not fault this establishment.

The location is spectacular and the hosts Steph and Dirk made us feel very welcome. Steph does all of the cooking and the food was outstanding. We enjoyed the stay so much that we booked in for another night on our return to South Africa. I would highly recommend Frontier River Resort to anybody travelling between Namibia and SA.

A wonderful place to relax for 2 nights, after a hectic departure from Cape Town and before crossing the border to Namibia early the following day. Comfortable tent, lovely views over the Orange River valley and the delicious dinner, made this a place to return to! Thanks Dirk and Stephi for your amayzing hospitality.

We just complete a rigorous kayaking trip on the Orange River and was exhausted, dirty and had sensory overload from the amazing landscape. Stephanie and her husband regularly check in on us, and spoiled us with her amazing cooking, fresh farm bread and ice cold gin and tonics. She also gifted me a bottle of home made rosemary and mint scrub for my sore hands and it did wonders. Felt like a home away from home! Thank you so so much for a wonderful stay!

You can hear noise from across Namibia but that might be dependent on wind direction. I thought it would be a bit more secluded than it is

Great place for a one night stay on route to or from Namibia. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Amazing supper produced by the host - would definitely recommend. Don't miss the turning for the road leading to them (like we did) - its right outside the SA border gate.
