I would suggest putting in a 1L box of milk in the fridge especially when you offer guests coffee. I know it's self-catering, I'm just suggesting...

It felt like I'm at home away from home. Everything was really great, the fact that the host left everyone a portable warm water bag on the bed was really cute as it can get very cold in the Karoo. Dit voel jy is in 'n plaashuis!!

If I have to find fault is will be that the water in the splash pool was not sparkling clean but with 40degrees C we still used it.

The old style Karoo house. This is a large house with lots of space. You can see that the hostess took care of everything - even the smallest detail. Everything we needed was available.

We love Graaf Reinet and appreciate old houses "kwirkiness" This one is in need of a bit of TLC, The layout is a bit odd and having to access a bathroom from the garage felt weird, the beds need to be updated and the fridge needs a defrost. The garden hose was not rolled up and the garden needed tending. (we acknowledge that this was a difficult time of year being over old years Eve)

Firstly, let me thank the hosts, they went out of their way to assist me with a meat order, as our arrival time was past the butcheries operating hours and I am truly thankful. This allowed me to have a proper "Skaap Chop Braai". The braai facilities were exceptionally clean. The house is functional and also clean, beautiful wooden floors and high ceilings.

We had never been to Graaf Reinet before and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The house was an amazing old home which has been beautifully maintained. The house was close enough to walk to find somewhere for dinner as well as a Spar to pick up odds and ends. Wish we had more time to explore the town.

No TV, as it was raining this would have been great to have. There is also a garage but it's locked, would have been great to be able to open it to secure our trailer that was full of luggage.

We considered that the property would benefit from a refurbishment. The doors and windows did not close properly, and we would have preferred a larger bed and a television. The plunge pool was green.

The communication with owners regarding an early check in was exceptional. They went the extra mile to accommodate my son who arrived earlier than the rest of the group. Beds were comfortable. A quiet, clean house and relaxing stay. We could have easily stayed on for a couple of nights as the one seemed too short to experience all on offer at Graaf Reniet. It is a friendly and wonderful town. We enjoyed the diverse culture it offers and interesting places to visit.

The main bedroom's bathroom is detached from the bedroom which means you have to go through a cold garage to access it. That part wasn't very comfortable but the rest of the house is amazing!

Our stay was so lovely. The host was friendly and accommodated anything we needed for the duration of the stay. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. We spent all our time cosy at the fireplace and, in the sunny dining room in the mornings! Would come back!

We loved the old world feel to the house, and our host was very organised answering questions before we knew we had them. We ate supper (karoo lamb) at Coldstream, which had a stunning view of the church architecture across the road. One night was too short a stay in this hidden gem.

Sadly we struggled with Load -Shedding but that is NOT through fault of our host , but RATHER the poor SA infra structure . However it did get us into bed early for early morning start ….therefore it became a positive 😇😇

It was spacious and location is good . 3 bathrooms and all the facilities we needed to overnight for our trip to the coast . the communication from host was precise and adequate and accessing keys was real easy . Garage cover for sufficient for Prado. Will come back again .

The house isn't very well equipped. Knives, forks, mugs and glasses are mostly poor quality and mismatched (not in a considered way). Less that what we expected for the price and rating.

The house is really beautiful. A proper old Karoo house with stone walls and wood floors and fittings. Exceeded expectations. The host was responsive and attentive while respecting our privacy.

No soap etc in bathrooms. Old/dirty? dishcloth and scour sponge in kitchen. Old towels.

Spacious with lovely old/antique furniture. Yellow wood floors and beams etc. Good location. Lovely garden and pool which we unfortunately could not utilise due to cold rainy weather.

Strange how the kitchen cupboards are so high, you actually need a ladder to get to them. I am 6ft tall and could not reach them.
