How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Although the kitchen is equipped with cutlery and crockery, absolutely nothing else is provided in the kitchen, not even a small amount of dishwashing liquid. Therefore we had to leave our dirty mugs and plates.
The location is very good, walking distance from many shops and restaurants. Bed is very comfortable.

We booked the standard room which I wouldn’t recommend at all. We were upgraded to the deluxe room which was excellent.

Standard rooms are slightly old style. Maybe some renovation will be good.
Location is very good & secured parking at the bottom of the building makes it very easy to stay. Almost all required facilities are there in the apartment.

I didnt like that i had to wait till past 1pm to check in. I think if rooms are not available this should then be highlighted before hand. Not on the day to say that you have to wait for a room.

Stained towels in the bathroom. I had about 5 towels but 3 had an ugly black stain on it. It really sucked

- I arrived after hours (4pm in the weekend) but the reception forgot to leave my keys at security, so I had to wait for them to drop off the keys. - There were some basic amenities such as hand soap and dish washing liquid missing. I do not expect to buy dish washing liquid on a trip. - There is no safe to store valuables in the apartment, which made me uncomfortable with leaving things. - The stove and oven are extremely old and should be replaced.
- The view of Table Mountain from the room is spectacular. - Very convenient as there are supermarkets and other stores in the shopping centre downstairs. - The staff was helpful when I requested to change my booking to end earlier.

There is a smell that comes from the drains in the bathroom (the smell went away when we left rhe plugs in the bath and basin). The floor at the beds has a slightly sticky feeling when walking barefoot. It think it might just be the carpet that has seen its days. There is lots of road noise so one has to sleep with the windows closed. Ok on a cool night, but will be muggy on a sunmer night
Location, parking, safety are all great. The beds were comfortable and clean.

A smart TV would be convenient. No Wi-Fi - this might really annoy any guest.
Definitely liked the shower and the wardrobe( I believe it was the deluxe room option ). The room space is fine for a single person. The views were also decent at night Convenient location - easy access to shops.

The sound of vehicles passing in night was too much. The wind sound was also a lot disturbing during night. No bathtub available in deluxe room.
Rooms were neat & clean. Enough utensils & crockery for a small family. Bed was comfortable. Secured parking with free parking tickets. Availability of shopping mall at ground floor.

Not enough channels on TV, especially now with curfew, and reception not good.

- Communication with the manager was poor. It was difficult to get essentials like towels, and the manager was unhelpful and unfriendly when approached. Her only fast response to everything was “please give your understanding”. She prioritized new arrivals over guests who had been staying for a few weeks, which was disappointing because I paid the same amount and she made me feel like I am not important. It happened often that I got the towel after hours, so after 4 times I couldn’t accept anymore and give my understanding and she was not helpful and argued with me. - Limited internet data provided upon arrival (5 GB) and no additional data provided upon rebooking. You will need your own data! - The apartment is old and needs renovation, especially the bathroom and kitchen pans. - Construction noise in the building was disruptive, and there were occasional water outages until 2 pm. - Confusing faucets: one for hot water and one for cold.
Beautiful view of Table Mountain from the apartment. - Convenient location in a shopping mall with easy access to a supermarket. - Friendly cleaning staff, especially the smaller one who was lovely. - Located in a relatively safe area, though the presence of homeless people made me feel unsafe, opting for Uber for short distances.
