The Peace and quit - as well as the comfort and cleanliness of the house. I LOVED the art in house. Furthermore, Tash was an Awesome Hostess! She even drove out late at our first night, when we were getting lost, to ensure we were at the right accommodation! Thank You sooo much Tash for All you did to make our stay fun and comfortable!

What a view! We enjoyed the peace from the lake and mountains. Our son loved the freedom to play underneath the pine trees. The drive towards the place is challenging but rewarding.

That I had to go home

Our stay at Giantscup was amazing. The host, Tash, was very nice and informative. The house was very comfortable and had a lovely upmarket feel. For once I could find nothing a miss with our stay and truly worth every penny. The only place to stay in the Drakensberg.

Giantscup was perfect for a real destress! The surroundings were beautiful, the lodge was amazing and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The owner, Wolf Avni was so hospitable and made us feel so at home. He even sent through a hot loaf of freshly made bread and their trout patè. It was a wonderful touch. The hiking trail was amazing and highly recommended. The cabin we stayed in had a lovely fireplace that we used almost everyday because of the weather. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and can't wait to go back!

We were overwhelmed with the beautiful surroundings, the absolute stunning accommodation, the warm welcome. We loved the fireplace and the luxury of a bath and the exquisite natural soaps and creams. The cottage had everything we needed and we were surprised with a freshly baked bread with lovely trout pate. Everything was perfect - from the accurate directions to the excellent service. We could not have asked for anything better.

Take it easy on the last few km of road

Tash was very communicative ahead of time to ensure a super smooth check-in; The unit was a recently renovated one with great finishes; Tash and her dad were very helpful with advice; Scenary and setting was one of the the best we have seen in years- will come back again for a longer stay :)

Welcoming and flexible host who went out of her way to ensure we arrived safely. We stayed at the Duckbay Lodge which had spectacular serene lake and mountain views with absolute privacy. Comfortable accommodation with modern homely touches. Everything was spotless. Perfect home away from home.

Nothing not to like.

You must be self-sufficient and provide your own groceries. However Underberg is only a short drive away. The location, (on Goshen Farm), was perfect for us. The cottage was close to the lakeside and surrounded by pine forest. Views of the Drakensberg mountains across the lake are beautiful, particularly at sunrise and sunset. The cottage was a two-bedroom unit with one large double bed in one side of the lounge and a second bedroom with two large double beds on the other side. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Lounge, Dining area and Kitchen are open plan and a fireplace in the lounge warms the rooms at night. Firewood is provided daily and extra wood is stored in a large woodbox on the patio. The cottages are far enough apart to be completely private. The Giants Cup Nature Reserve is adjacent to Goshen and permits to access this area are available from Goshen. Don't miss the opportunity to walk in the Nature Reserve (and on portions of the Giants Cup hiking trail) if you enjoy the mountains. Fly fishing permits for trout are also required and are available onsite. One serious item to be taken into account is the section of road into the property. It is not sedan friendly and a vehicle with high clearance is a must. (Don't take this advice lightly). Would I return for another visit? Yes, In a heartbeat!

Although to see magic, one needs to take arduous roads, this place is similar. Thus the common road to the venue requires some attention.

The peace and tranquility is a foremost characteristic of this place. The chalets were well designed and comfortable.

Everything was beyond expectations....didn't like leaving!

Location, location, location. Super friendly hosts on arrival, who left us alone thereafter. Perfect base for walking and being with nature.....we will be back!
