How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A shame that there were only two bathrooms for a three bedroom apartment.
Nice big apartment with a good outside area. We were three couples and we all enjoyed our stay.

Spacious and good location. It is all really nice, nevertheless I would not consider it a luxury apartment. But for the price it is ok!

Garage remote didnt work for whole stay so had to park in visitor spots if available. Walking past neighbours' outdoor area to enter via patio - front door was not usable. Uncomfortable for us and them.
Great apartment close to Harbour restaurant area although we did drive down at night(safety and hilly street)

The hosts are not to blame for the loadshedding, but during loadshedding gaining access to the lockup garage was challenging to say the least, but there was a workaround so all worked out well.
The unit was well equipped, very clean and comfortable. Can recommend. The view of the ocean and harbor must be one of the best amenities of the unit and very central location.

No cleaning was done while we were there. Also had to pay a cleaning fee as an extra, which I thought was for the period we were there, for cleaning the unit after we vacated the apartment, surely that should be included in the accommodation fee. Also dstv never worked even after numerous messages sent to the owners of the unit. Dstv only became active on the day of our departure.

The location is amazing, overlooking the sea and harbour. The apartment was very well stocked with everything you need. The attention to detail, like having fresh milk in the fridge was amazing. The apartment is huge and very comfortable

The bathroom on suite was a bit cramped.
The apartment is close to the harbour and the beach. It is very luxurious and would certainly suit a family wanting to stay for a holiday in Mossel Bay having 3 bedrooms. The appliances and facilities were excellent. We were within walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants.

If I have to nit pick it would be the mattress in the main bedroom was a little firm for our liking, but that is a personal preference and not a fault as such.
The flat was perfect for a relaxing break away from the everyday hustle of life, sit on the patio and watch the sea life go by. The whales, dolphins and seals all came along to within metres of the Harbour walls which we overlooked from the flat. The comprehensive guest file contained all the information needed to use the well equipped kitchen full of all the modern day gadgets we are so used to in our own homes. I had one minor query which Sanja sorted out in minutes for us. We will definitely be back in the future.

The place was absolutely Amazing. It was central to everything we qanted and in walking distance of everything you will need. You literally just need take clothing as everything you need it supplied. Food is Literally on your doorstep. Not forgetting the hosts are absolutely Amazing and helpful.

Keys were fiddly - half didn’t work Garage door remote didn’t work initially then fixed Owners didn’t seem to know which keys worked - wrong instructions Washing machine was ancient and didn’t work either

The owners did not provide appropriate service. Lousy directions for getting into the place. Did not provide a key to be able to get through gate to beach. Made a fuss about providing more towels. Did not let us know times of load shedding in advance. No heaters for cold nights.
