The bed is a little hard, would recommend possibly swopping out for a softer mattress. Not sure if the wall heater or the electric blanket works, but it wasn't cold enough for us to need either of them

My partner and I loved our stay in Gods Gift Cottage. This is our fourth time in Clarens and is definitely one of our best and most affordable stays. The photo's on the site are a 100% accurate portrayal of the cottage. Its large enough to feel comfortable and everything you need is on hand. There is an emergency light for load shedding / power outages. A fireplace for those cold winter nights and extra blankets. My partner specifically loved the extra touch of the rusks (he is a rusk fan). So many small but thoughtful things caught my attention. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Clarens. It's exceptionally affordable, free wifi and slightly off the main road so you are safe and close enough to walk around but far enough away from the square for a peaceful nights rest.

The first night we found ourselves without water, and found out the following morning there was a burst pipe; the owner could've come and told us at the time rather when it was being fixed the following morning.

The owner was very pleasant and the accommodation was well appointed and comfortable.

We were greeted with pleasant smiles and a very accomidating host. The cottage was warm and welcoming. Everything we needed was provided. Any questions we had were answered with patience and politeness.

Lovely place to stay. Very clean, comfortable and very friendly owners. It’s peaceful and quiet as well because you aren’t on the main road but it is a short walk to the town center. Would definitely go back and stay here

Bit of a noisy fridge, woke me at night. Found we had insect bites on areas of our bodies, which could be a result of anybody transferring pests from other places of accomodation ... not too much of an issue for us but thought we should mention.

The cottage was quiet and peaceful, a perfect distance from town to be able to have a stroll down for lunch or dinner, but far enough away that you do not get disturbed by the hustle and bustle of the town on busy weekends. the facilities were excellent, and the shower was large and spacious.

The acorns falling on the roof in the middle of the night were a little scary sometimes, although they have tried their hardest to accomodate for it. It's a lovely tree and I wouldn't cut it down - but there were a few times I woke up as it falls onto a tin roof. There were a spider or two by my pillows. Nothing hectic and could be easily dusted off. The signage for the venue is a different entrance to the one you actually need to use but the host was super accommodating and came and showed us the way.

We liked the fact that our apartment was secluded and had everything we needed. Didn't feel like anything was missing. I also think it's a decent size for some of the other places in Clarens. The host asked us to let her know if we needed anything at all.
