I liked the way I was received,the owner was super friendly (reminds me of my mom).I also liked that there was 24 hour electricity backup, so i was never in darkness. I also liked the outside braai facility with pizza 🍕 oven next to the pool. And a woodburning fireplace in the living area. To Merlicia thank you x100.I can't wait for my next visit. A spectacular property in a superb and quiet location. It's very managed by proud owners who pay attention to details. In addition Marlicia checked in on us regularly and personally delivered us to Wine Tram station when our transport didn't arrive. Certainly the best accomodation we stayed in during a month of travelling in this lovely country.

Quite a few staff waking around

The property is situated close to the main road through town; a few minutes walk, or a quick drive. Lovely neighbourhood for walks and a lovely dam (and “bird park”) nearby. Beautiful decor and spacious rooms. Would definitely recommend!

Clean and spacious, had everything that we needed for a long weekend. Incredible bathroom! Lovely outdoor space as well. Very welcoming, wish we could have stayed longer.

The property was just so beautiful, a real home away from home. The apartment was so pristinely clean with lots of space and even his and hers showers and sinks. The gardens around the property are just stunning also and makes the place so peaceful. Marlicia, the host, was so warm and friendly and was great for recommendations. Thanks so much!

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. We were expecting to be affected by “ rolling blackouts/load shedding” , but were pleasantly surprised that the property has an efficient and silent battery backup power supply. The outdoor area has a pool and well equipped entertainment area.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom home, it has everything you need. The welcome touches were lovely. you won’t be disappointed if you stay here. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Grande Plaisir was fantastic. We stayed for 10 nights on holiday with our 9 month old baby and had a wonderful trip. The accommodation is huge, secure, clean and provides everything you could need. The pool area is also lovely. There was 24hr back up power during load shedding which was invaluable. Marlicia is truly delightful and the most incredible host. She could not do enough for us - everything from tasty snacks and wine provided, to recommendations about the area, to finding a doctor to see our baby when she became unwell on holiday within 20 mins (!) and kind offers of babysitting. It genuinely was one of the loveliest trips we have taken (despite having visited Franschooek several times before) and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Love this place.

Everything was perfect, the owner is so friendly, she really made us feel at home. The bed was very comfortable, there is aircon in the bedroom which was amazing. We loved the pool and the pool loungers, it was nice to relax and catch a tan by the pool, so peaceful. I made pizza one evening in the outdoor pizza oven, you need to try this. We will always book with Merlicia, whenever we stay in Franschhoek.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Marlicia was a very accommodating and excellent host. Even though there was loadshedding in Franschhoek, our stay was uninterrupted, and we had access to power the whole time.

Marlicia is a thoughtful and generous host. The apartment was great - very comfortable and has everything you need to feel at home. It was very hot so the pool was awesome and we made use of the excellent braai facilities too. We look forward to staying again next time we visit.
