Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

South AfricaThe hosts were friendly and accommodating to my requests. The only problem we encountered was with the Wi-Fi. There was no service from the second day we got there. The host didn’t rush us when it was time to checkout and we were not charged extra which I really appreciated. Overall my stay there was amazing, I recommend Guesthouse on Keam.

South AfricaWe waited for more than 10min outside the gate before allowed in. We were shown a room but have to share a bathroom with other visitors who are strangers to us. Then opted for an upgrade of R400 for the stay (2 days). When paying then told we should pay R800 or else move out. We ask the room to be cleaned and were told there are no cleaning services for the weekend and they dont clean the room for a 2 days stay. After begging for fresh towels, we were given a brown and a black towel but the were replacing white towels. There is no TV in the room. The sitting area was stuffed with beds. The shower was dirty between the tiles. We then decided to checkout before time because the conditions were not those indicated at the time of booking. The rooms have no sea views. I also need a 1 night refund from booking .com.
There is nothing to like in that property including the service that was provided.
