Should have stayed longer! I guess 1 small thing would have been good to know. I booked 3 cottages, 2 were next to each other, however the 3rd was a little way off and felt a bit excluded. Would I have known this I might have opted to pay extra for the bigger cottage which was closer to the other 2.

Stunning location, wish we stayed longer to enjoy the scenery and what Swellendam has to offer. The rooms were clean (very important for me any my family), the location is unbeatable and the host's friendliness was unsurpassed.

Beautiful location. Picturesque cottage and the hot tub is a must. We had a great time in the pool, at the playground and feeding the animals. Great host - couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely be back and I’d wholeheartedly recommend a stay here - it won’t disappoint

The locks on the front door was not really good and even hard to open.

It was a very traditional cottage and well decorated. Lots of little efforts, like the fresh flowers on the bedside table, that was very thoughtful. The hot tub was especially great although we had to pay a bit extra for it.

The cottage got very hot during our mid-summer visit. The fan was helpful but obviously not during load shedding, and opening windows let a lot of insects inside. Perhaps providing a solar fan or mesh at the windows might make it more comfortable in summer.

Gorgeous location, beautiful and tasteful cottage, well-equipped for self-catering, very friendly and helpful owner. I loved cooling off in the pool, and the log burner looked like it would make for a cozy cottage in winter.

Only inconvenience that is hard to avoid were the mosquitoes and flies relentlessly prowling the night :/ But what can one do....

The location was absolutely formidable at the foothill of Marloth Reserve. The facilities and host's attention to detail and responsiveness were great too. The cottage was cosy, clean, with so many appreciated little details. Overall a wonderful place to stay with lots to do around! Bonus points for the cute animals on the farm to give cuddles to!

We broke both of the wine glasses while cleaning them carefully, please provide more solid / sturdy ones as these ones were made of very thin glass :)

Amazing views from the secluded river cottage. Great animals, Sammy (our one year old) loved them. Nice lovable hosts. Great place to stay in the beautiful Swellendam! Especially liked the wood fired hot tub in our private garden.

The setting was incredibly beautiful. Mountain views, horses and donkeys on site that are noticeably happy and loved.. Pristine swimming pool with an amazing view. Premises accessible clean and cosy.

WOW!!! We had a super stay. We loved the privacy of Rose Cottage. We loved the pool!!!!! The braai area at the pool was fantastic. We braaied on the Saturday evening there. Such a charming , well equipped house with a lovely bathroom and shower.

I would have preferred to pay after I get there and I am able to see what I am getting, as there are too many scams. I paid the deposit, but as I was paying via EFT I was pushed to pay the rest on the day day of arrival, but before we got to there.

The accommodation was cosy and had everything we needed, like Wifi, board games, movies for the kids and mosquito spray. Although the kitchen was tiny I was impressed with the thought that went into the utensils, including sharp knives a peel and can opener. The braai had a decent braai grid and tongs for the wood. The swimming pool was clean. Overall the owner tries to ensure that the guests enjoy there stay I would love to stay there again.

Something to prepare for : payment only cash. Not a big deal, but when you are en route without network connex, you may not receive the instructions/message from the owner so you may miss the cash-notification.

nothing serious. but since there is no fly net setup on the windows, which brought a ton of flies in the evening. A message to guests to be mindful could be helpful.

Great location we found on our way back to Cape Town, we found this place to be perfect for us as it is quite and clean with the farm charm. Enjoyed seeing animals (Horses, sheep, donkeys, & dogs) and a berry/jam/liqueur farm and tasting room nearby. Stargazing at night was a wonderful experience.

Can't say a bad thing about this place.

Check-in was easy and the cottage was super clean. It was stocked with essentials (teas, coffees, sugar, salt, pepper, and oil) and had everything we needed. There was enough wood for the grill/braai and extra bags too. We also had the hot tub which was fantastic. The host was friendly and responded quickly to any questions. The scenery was amazing and there were nature sounds all around. The farm dogs were respectful of my cats and kept their distance when the cats were on their leashed walks.
