Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was above expectations! You really are close to nature :) The elephants come to the pool to drink fresh water every day, just like in the photos! The food was great, the staff so friendly, the tents were really clean and had everything in them!

FranceAll! It was a wonderful stay! The better that I had for sure. All was perfect, the staff was great, they organised the birthday of my daughter with cake and songs, and was always very pleasant and nice. The safari was also extraordinairy, we saw the big 5 in 1 day (2 safaris), our guide Satice, was friendly and professional. And to finish, tents are very comfortable.

GermanyThe communication before the visit and also the information for access. The camp cannot be reached via the Kruger Park and you should have an off-road vehicle.
It is a wonderful place with great people and animals. Incredible experiences await and you should just embrace the adventure.

BelgiumNothing! Absolutely nothing.
Amazing place. The tents are very comfortable and tastefully furnished and decorated. The common areas too. It was a pleasure to come back for a hot drink there after a safari. We stayed 2 days and the elephants came twice to drink at the waterhole. The staff were so kind. The guides were awesome. Gave us unforgettable memories of dozens of beautiful animals and lots of interesting facts and real/life stories. The food - meals and breakfasts - delicious. We loved everything. Everything was very clean, both the tents and the common areas.

United StatesThe wifi was spotty at the lodge, but for being in the "bush", it was serviceable.
Amazing staff, succulent food, comfortable lodging, and amazing game drives. Oh, and sharing the pool with the elephants was a heck of an experience!

IrelandTransfers from the airport are very expensive (nothing really to do with the accommodation), but I would advise people to sort this out/book a car in advance.

GermanySome very small things like cleanliness, small spots on the sheets but it's not worth mentioning
Amazing set up of the camp, directly in nature with sounds of birds and crickets. Safaris were great, we saw plenty of animals and our guide made sure we had a memorable experience, explained a lot about animals and plants. We stayed for almost 4 days and elephants didn't show up to the pool, which I think is a good thing as they are not allured there in any way and made tourist attraction. But if you only book for that reason be aware that it's not a guarantee.

SwedenThe vegetarian food could be a bit better.
Beautiful and spacious tents in the middle of the bush. The main area with the pool and eating/relaxing area was really nice. The Elephants came by the pool for a drink and it was awsome! We also had a real close encounter with a pride of seven or eight lions on their way to the evening hunt!

The realest safari experience you can get (but still in a comfortable way!). The tents are really clean, modern and comfortable, the staff are unbelievably helpful and friendly, the food is AMAZING, the elephants came to the pool once during our 3 day stay and the game drives are out of this world - you are truly experiencing the wild bush! We had the best time.

United StatesWe had an incredible time at Honeyguide Mantobeni! We were a group of two couples staying for four nights. Safari / Game drives: Our guide, KK, was wonderful. Game drives were twice a day (5:30-8:30AM and 4:30-7:30PM) and included in the rate. We saw all of the Big 5 (except leopards) as well as hippos, giraffes, zebras, gnus, antelope, warthogs, jackals, etc. The vehicles were great and there were never more than 8 of us in the car. KK gave us tasty snacks, coffee / tea in the mornings, and a free drink is included in the afternoon drive! Game drives are shared and we found all the other travelers staying at the camp to be really friendly, fun, and easy to talk to. Food: AMAZING. Huge portions, super tasty, incredibly fresh. Mostly Western style but we did have one very special dinner in the boma (once per week, was on Wednesday when we were there) with pap, chakalaka, roasted meats, and other tasty South African fare. Special shout out to Mavis, the super kind and welcoming chef. One member of our group was both lactose-intolerant and gluten-free and Mavis was wonderful about accommodating her restrictions. Accommodations: Extremely comfy bed, crisp sheets, big and clean bathroom. Never any issues with power or running water, despite a huge storm that hit one night. Just all around amazing tent. Location: We were truly so very awed and impressed by the location of the camp. Besides the elephants coming to drink at the pool, you can see all manner of animals from the porch - during meals, we often saw giraffes, gnus, baboons, monkeys, etc. walking by! It was so special. Other: The masseuse was really wonderful, highly recommend the hot stone massage! The camp also helped us arrange transfers to and from Hoedspruit Airport.

United StatesThe tents are rustic and get buggy in wet weather. That is the nature of this kind of safari experience. We would have appreciated clearer instructions for laundry of clothes.
This was the safari experience of a lifetime. We loved our twice a day game drives with Dan and saw all the big five in just a three day stay. The staff was incredible! The elephants came to visit the pool every single day we were there. I got a fantastic massage at the spa. I was most surprised at the quality of the food—top notch with great options. And they even made a special romantic dinner for us since we were on our honeymoon.

The camp is everything you could wish for during a safari trip near Kruger. Especially the game drives with our guide Brilliant were absolutely fantastic and a big plus during our stay. We were only 6 people in our vehicle during the game drives and we saw lots of animals. The elephants do really come close to the pool side which is an extraordinary experience

FranceThe check in process was very disorganized. They have 1 reception desk for the 3 hotels of the property and only 1 manager. We waited super long (30 min) for the ranger to come pick us up at the reception desk and bring us to our stay and we almost missed our safari departure because of that. Same for the check out, everyone has to check out at the reception desk so you can wait a long time. It would be better if we can pay straight at the hotel once we leave.
Really nice pool at Mantobeni stay. The tent were comfortable even though a storm happened over night (so keep in mind you might not have a deep deep sleep). The food and kitchen staff was great. Also, amazing Safari experience with our ranger. The rangers do their best to find the animals and communicate super well between them. It allowed us to see many animals during each safari.

United KingdomAbsolutely amazing experience. The tents are very comfortable and clean, the advantage of this resort is the tents aren't closed off from the animals so you are fully immersed with nature and the animals. The food is also excellent and all staff are very kind. There is a spa onsite and also swimming pool which are fun to chill out between drives and meals. As for the safari it was incredible. Our guide Michael was so experienced and knowledgeable regarding the animals, he made all drives a laugh and very interesting, you really get up close to the animals. I can't recommend this enough thanks for a great time!
