We loved staying at Hout & About Guest House! Wonderful staff, amazing views, impeccable/clean facilities, the homey communal spaces and a yummy breakfast! The eggs were delicious and oh this panorama... It was definately a treat spending some time there. Thanks again to Alice who gave us top-notch tips/suggestions! Can only recommend!

One side of bed's USB port in first room not working, not an issue for us but maybe good for you to know. Staff forgot teaspoons the first day, also not a big issue but maybe they would like to follow up.

It isn't what we didn't like but rather a suggestion. Possibly a little assistance regarding the lugging of bags up the entrance steps and to the rooms especially with older folk.

The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was great. The chef is a pleasant person. Should we visit Hout Bay again we undoubtably will make use of your lovely guesthouse again. We have told loads of friends of our pleasant experience and stay.

We really loved our stay at Hout & About! It's a really lovely place, exactly as photographed and described. The rooms are really spacious, they have everything you need, massive comfy bed and the pool area is lovely. The kitchen and lounge area is a real show stopper, incredible views for breakfast! But what really makes this place incredible is the staff, they have such a lovely team, very much a home away from home. So friendly and helpful, make sure to check the chalkboard in the morning with the load shedding schedule so that you don't get caught out. As long as you plan for it it's no issue. The owner is really lovely, he made the breakfast every morning we were there (REALLY delicious food) and was so chatty and friendly and gave loads of recommendations. I'd really recommend this place, it has a lovely feel to it. We used hout bay as a bit of a base to explore nearby areas and it worked well for that. Nothing negative to say! It's worth knowing that if you're relying on Ubers - a toll is required to drive over Chapman's peak drive (not expensive) but you will likely be expected to pay the toll. Otherwise it's very easy to navigate :) hopefully one day we will be back! Thank you Hout & About 🙏🏼

The room was small and had no windows looking out on the stunning view of Hout Bay. It was sandwiched between other rooms with other guests having to walk down a narrow corridor in front of our to get to their rooms and so it was a little noisy. It may well be that our expectations were not met in terms of having a room with a view. Apart from this we really loved our stay

The communal dinningroom and lounge area was magnificent with a beautiful view. The breakfasts were outstanding and the hosts were exceptional.

The place is far from everything which is both good and bad. Also our room was not entirely private because it was right opposite the pool together with other rooms.
