Dining room good for families and conferences or groups but too large and not very ambient for couples . WE ate our dinner at the bar and that was better.

Well appointed comfortable rooms. Excellent friendly helpful staff. Charming small bar in original old building. Breakfasts and all meals good.

There seems to be miscommunication between staff. Our requests always had to be repeated to another staff member before it gets done - 1. Had to ask 3 different staff members to make a fire in the room; 2. We needed wine glasses and a wine opener to be brought to our room, and we had to phone reception 2x for the same request. On check-in the rooms were not done. we had insufficient towels and glasses in our room for the amount of guest we were.

Beautiful location and just well maintained grounds. Lovely spaces to move around. The put-put and trampoline was lovely for the kids.

Excellently renovated spacious executive bedroom, well equipped and very comfortable with great bathroom and shower ensuite. Very good dinner and breakfast. Well worth a stay in the delightful Houw Hoek Valley

Breakfast and dinner - Very friendly and attentive staff, good selection of food. Just wish the fireplace had been working. Room - would recommend some kind of literature in the room to show you how to use the television, numbers to call for reception, the spa, etc. and maybe a list of activities (i.e. all in the room for you to read at your leisure) of what you can do, opening hours, etc. And disposable shower caps in the bathroom.

The play area and the putt-putt area smelled very bad and it was generally not clean - duck droppings everywhere. The smell at the play area was so unpleasant that we could not stay there for long. Luckily we had great weather and the pools where available.

Room needs a bit of updating, the TV was small and the sound not great. The bedding was clean but had stains on it. The kettle could not be used as it was dirty. The bathroom had a mouldy smell.

The views are beautiful, and the staff very accommodating. Breakfast was great.

The generator was right next to the room we were given, room 44. The disturbance was horrible.

Food was delicious. Waiter and staff very friendly. Breakfast was a bit of a letdown, I thought there would be more options.

On our second visit we booked a room at the main hotel complex. It was lovely, spacious and clean. The lady at reception made it her personal mission to ensure that we had a good experience. Thank you so much!

The hotel should invest in a generator, because when it got to loadshedding the property was pitch dark. No emergency lights were in the room. They have an onsite bar, but it closed very early. They advertise the pool table in the games room, but nothing of the sort. The games in the games room was mostly out of order.

The breakfast and room was to my satisfaction.

The staff is extremely slow in service, not helpful and lack training. We requested a room with a double bed, and placed us with 2 single beds. The service in the restaurant is non-existent. The flapjacks came out raw.

Breakfast is good, but average. For this price you expect more. The new rooms are spacious and clean. Dinner was tasty - limited choices. For the price I honestly feel they can do better. The rating on booking.com is thus accurate

New room we stayed in still needs to be finished. Being a tall person a bed with railing at the bottom does nothing good. Had to sleep on the single bed.

The room was surprisingly well fitted with a nice carpet, large bed, good TV and generally very spacious. The bathroom had a large shower. Somehow this exceeded my expectation form the online pictures. The surrounding mountain area is absolutely stunning and the whole place gave a peaceful feeling, even though most of the rooms must have been booked. The dinner was great value and the breakfast was first class. I would highly recommend for a quick one night escape form the city life.
