How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Signage on the corridor showing the exit wasn't visible, I had to look where to find the lifts down.

Our stay was lovely - I do think you need units with baths, especially for guests who stay longer. Also, you need to cater for a wine list at the Medley Restaurant for dinners :)

Did not really dislike anything as I was always away. I pretty much got to enjoy every moment at the hotel. No dislikes from me.
Breakfast was amazing. Amazing service from Crispen, Bongi and Nhlanhla. I had a lovely stay and will definitely recommend my friends when they travel to Johannesburg. Very comfortable and convenient.

The bathroom is ridiculously small. Especially the sink. It was impossible to do anything except for washing your hands. There was no space to put any kind of toiletries or bathroom bag. And you can completely forget about trying to wash your face or shave in the sink! It was downright comical trying to find a place to put any of our stuff when we were trying to get ready in the mornings. THE SINK IS A COMPLETE JOKE.
Free laundry! The food was great. They treated us extra special for our anniversary. Thank yo so much!

i asked on booking.com for early breakfast for suhoor and called hotel to confirm if they do this and they said yes,but sadly they did not arrange for this

Breakfast is OK just for those that do not like meat or chicken Halal will be a problem
The rooms are nice and clean, quite place good for work. But what I do not understand why a good hotel such this do not have a cashier. if you want some small bills im ZAR the box in always empty or the duty manager carries the money away when left the hotel. If is during weekend you cannot change USD as well. ?????

We took packed breakfast because we left for a shoot at 5am. The breakfast sandwich was cold and hard. The mini croissant was cold too and very hard. We complained about it before and thought this time around it would improve. We received a mini tiny fruit salad with yoghurt and NO SPOON. I have experienced your hot breakfast and its excellent. you need to work on a takeaway breakfast solution that can work hot or cold. ie. muffins, SOFT croissants, scones, cheese,jams, butter, fruit salad and yoghurt + Muesli. OR baked bread / crackers to name a few.

Unstable wifi in my room
Everything. Didn't get an opportunity to use the spa. I'd like to try that next time. My only issue was with the wifi, it wasn't stable in my room. Thanks

I did not like that bed request was not adhered to (despite the hotel reaching out privately, I did not receive a room with a King bed, as requested); the pool was out of service (without any indication on the website); the fact that the living rooms do not have AC's (only the bedroom), and therefore it was very hot; all rooms are connected, so you can hear your neighbor due to the quality of the doors; and although there were Nespresso machines (as pictured), the hotel does not provide capsules for them.
I liked that the Hyatt House was well situated, clean, convenient and felt safe.

Cold pool, would love heated in the evenings. Bed was uncomfortable and breakfast was very limited, need more variety.
Clean hotel in a very nice and quiet area in Sandton. Close to the mall. Halaal certified breakfast and restaurant.

Pool is definitely smaller than advertised, so are the rooms. Food is overly priced for what youre getting, store doesnt carry toiletries and the shuttle service isnt available after 2pm
