Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaI liked everything.
IGadi House is a wonderful newly renovated Victorian Villa with the a lot of attention to detail and love. It is located at a very quiet side street, very close to the trendiest area of Cape Town and a short drive from the V&A Waterfront. I really enjoyed my stay and the owner, Cecile, is very helpful and a pleasure to chat with. The breakfast is tasty and the staff wonderful.

NetherlandsGreat quiet location close to Kloofstreet. We received a warm welcome. Cecille is a marvelous host that spares no effort to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We had a spacious, modern room with excellent beds, bath and shower. A delicious healthy breakfast with a french twist. After our plane had a delayed departure we were quickly welcomed back. Overall a very recommendable place to stay!

GermanyThis is a simply wonderful place in Cape Town. Main things to highlight: - The owner is just WONDERFUL - she is unbelievably kind and caring. She was helping with EVERYHTING, e.g. she gave me her raincoat when it was raining outside and I didn't have anything to wear. Thanks so much!! - The location in Cape Town is great - its super central, you are just nearby the Kloof St (supermarkets, great restaurants; really everything you need) but at the same time its very quiet and safe! - The place is completely new, clean and just beautiful

United KingdomWe had a very positive experience overall! There are only small things I could think of. TV in the room included Netflix which was set up in local language and we didn’t know how to change it to English 😂 it was a quick fix but we didn’t want to disturb Cecile with it, so we adjusted and it wasn’t a big deal. One night we were sleeping with an open window and there were a couple of mosquitos in the room, it would be great to have something against them to plug in.
The location is great as it’s just behind the Kloof street where there are lots of cafes, restaurant and a small mall. It is good that it was on parallel street as it wasn’t noisy at all. The room was really nice and cozy with new facilities and everything that you need included. Even when you have a lot of activities during the day, you could come back to a comfy room in the hotel and have good rest. The room was cleaned every day and very nicely. Cleanness was quiet an important thing for us as when we were choosing a hotel on booking we saw a lot of reviews for many locations with a poor cleaning service. iGadi didn’t disappoint us! The owner Cecile was very friendly and accommodating, she gave us vouchers for a free ice cream which was delicious!

This is a beautiful, quiet and clean place next to the famous Kloofstreet and close to the Table mountain/Lionshead and all the beaches. Cecile is a lovely host: she is warm and welcoming. She even provided us with the possibility of using the room/shower longer because our flight back home was really late. Next to that she has a lot of good tips for dining, walkingtrails etcetera. The staff is more than friendly! We would definitely come back and stay longer in the future!

Great place, new, clean, modern and beautiful. Our room had a lovely private patio (with a beautiful view of Lion's Head!). Super friendly and accommodating staff, Cecile the manager went out of her way to make our stay even more comfortable. The breakfast is amazing, definitely make sure to get that! Igadi house located in a quiet street just behind the bustling Kloof street were you will finds lots of shops and restaurants. Very safe and central location. There is also parking space right in front of the place. There is a power back up so we hardly noticed anything of the load shedding. We will definitely come back!
