The 2 bedrooms by the pool had a very active bee nest in the wall. A bit scary as next to the outdoor bathroom. The outdoor shower by the braai is not working. One of the baths was not working. A few repairs are needed in general including the pool filter which was blocked. Very few wine glasses, about 5 mixed size glasses. No dishwasher, which would have been useful over Christmas.

Amazing spacious property with a lovely splash pool, essential in the heat. Air conditioning in the bedrooms was lovely. We had some lovely walks in Kuleni & saw a variety of animals, birds & insects. The gate was opened early for us one morning so that we could get to our game drive by 6am, all the staff were so friendly. Thandi was also lovely. I loved the outdoor shower, missing it already. Great fire pit & braai area.

But the owner did come out to assist but it was out of her hands, and she called out Dstv people to come and assist, but they did not come. AND PLEASE PUT WIFI IT WILL BE MORE CONVINIANCE

Fantastic location we had the entire lodge to ourselves. Superb setting, liked the privacy, pool, comfortable deck and staff. It's so peaceful and quiet, with the animals, the place is big and clean we loved the rooms.

Everything was fabulous, thank you! Just a few small suggestions to make it even better - we would've appreciated a coffee plunger, tea strainer, a bigger chopping board, as well as, an adapter to be able to use the hairdryer.

We had a wonderful stay. Ihlozi is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Beautiful setting in the bush, most comfortable accommodation and great outdoor showers. Everything is so spacious and we even observed several Nyala and even a giraffe which came very close to the veranda. The bush walks are magnificent!

The lodge not having any form of back up power especially on the water supply, so being without electricity when loadshedding is not too bad, but also means no water. The outside bathrooms are amazing however very cold on a winter's morning and evening.

The location, environment and animals. Really relaxing and perfect for unplugging and getting away from it all. Great kitchen and cooking facilities. The layout of the lodge is very spacious and caters for all. You can be part of or find some solitude too. The nyala, duikers, bushbabies, squirrels and wildlife on our doorstep was amazing and even had a visit from a giraffe and her baby. Really stunning. A definite repeat visit on the cards.

The second room was a distance away from the main bedroom. Neither my 10 year old daughter or myself felt comfortable with her staying in that room by herself. we ended up making up a bed in our room for her. On the one night the room was freezing cold, with no additional blankets

Fantastic Location. We had the entire lodge to ourselves. Great, peaceful and well appointed lodge.

the lodge does not have free Wi-Fi. u have to use your own data. had to constantly request for iron when needing to get ready. no ironing board, had to iron on bed. the villa should have iron and ironing board that is stored in the cupboards so guests can use at their convenience.

That it’s exclusive use. Only your group has access to all the facilities in the villa. The lodge animals come right at your door step.

Place looks amazing😍 and it is very peaceful. You get visited by the beautiful animals such as Deers and impalas. It's very spacious and clean. I recommend it 100%. My husband and I booked for our last day before heading back home, we wished the stay was longer because this place was too beautiful. Staff is also very friendly.

lighting in second bedroom and bathroom was poor. No reading lights in main lounge. Cutlery and crockery not up to standard ,eg chipped bowls and hodge-podge of cutlery. Light switches in odd places.

Theres was no one to welcome us when we arrived, didnt know whether to go in or where we sleeping, theres no network so we had to drive out to the main road for signal and ask whats going on. The place is very deep in the forest so it was an inconvenience to not have anyone in the property to explain which Unit we can use. But afterwards the stay was very very nice. Adding more blinds or curtains to make it optional whether you want to be seen by outside or not could be better.

I liked the views, its so peaceful and quite, with the animals, the place is big and clean. We loved the rooms.

The host's inability to address the issues we had. The lodge was not cleaned before we arrived. It looked like the last cleaning was done after the last people to book left. We were not going to need the housekeeper until we noticed a few things that looked dirty. The housekeeper was requested for the following morning. The upholstery on the furniture, including scatter cushions, need a deep cleaning. The main bedroom had a musty scent throughout our stay. The scent was unbearable to an extent that I was unable to spend time in the room. The third bedroom which is further from the main house has a beehive close to the outside bathroom and shower. My friend eventually got stung by a bee whilst trying to take a bath. The lights in the braai area were not working. We were advised to use the torches that were in our rooms should we need extra lighting. Tell me why aren't the lights maintained? . If someone is going on holiday for 5 days. They shouldn't be worried about lights!!! Karen offered to assist with booking a game drive for us, which is 40 minutes away from the lodge. She was given money by us to pay and she paid for the game drive and not the conservation fee and entry to the park. Which is weird because how does one pay for the game drive and not entry? An inconvenience as we had to pay again in the morning. She did not communicate that issue. We asked for the housekeeper to assist us with a few things later in the day. We asked Karen to let her know that we needed her and she did not. We tried getting a hold of Karen on her cell multiple times and she was not answering, throughout our stay. When we finally reached her, she explained that she's off site, actually traveled to Richard's Bay. Our only point of contact was the housekeeper and not the actual lodge manager, Karen. Which begs the questions, were were treated in that way because we were a ladies only group? and that we're black? Important to note.

The kitchen and dining area/common room were spacious. Basic items that are needed for a kitchen were available. A variety of glasses could be added.

We weren’t aware, that the place didn’t offer any wifi and that there was no backup for loadshedding, it meant that we didn’t have any running water additionally to no electricity. The place doesn’t look as glamorous as in the photos and has seen better days. Most accommodation in this price range would offer a bottle of water and milk ias a welcome but nothing here. Additionally there was some sort of mixup with our booking, we had booked 3 nights but they had us down for 2 nights and of course they blamed booking.com but not apologetic at all. All in all I would not recommend and wouldn’t book it again.

The pool deck is saggy, spider web all over the house. The thatch roof is leaking when it rains. Roof needs to be repaired as we had a Genet in our room making noise when forcing itself inside the thatch. The Jacuzzi in the room is not working.
