Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaLighting was not that bright in some rooms and wifi a problem when rooms far from the reception. But otherwise very comfortable, clean and lovely.
Beautiful Lodge in a lovely scenic area. Quiet and peaceful. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast excellent with a variety of options. Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful and assisted whenever asked. A truly lovely stay.

United KingdomThe room was like the black hole of Calcutta the lightening really needs improvement and stronger globes put in the lights. The WiFi was not great either and my husbands iPad did not like the security so he signed in with his phone but by morning it had disconnected and a new password was required.
The breakfast was fantastic we had cereal followed by a full English and tea. The hotel was roughly half way between our home and our holiday accommodation, it would have helped if the information had said there was a microwave and fridge available

South AfricaThe drainage needs to be sorted out, as the shower clogs up and the water tends to overflow which can be a little annoying. Other than that there are no other issues.
The staff are amazing. They are very helpful and friendly. The room is very comfortable and the bed sleeps well. There is always free water on arrival and the dinners are absolutely amazing. I have tried the Fish and Chips as well as the steak and veg. The meals also come with a starter, main and desert as well as a drink. The pool is always sparkling and inviting.

South AfricaThe tv in our room wasn't smart such that we couldn't stream Netflix, Disney and amazon like we do in other hotels. This could be easily improved through installation of smart tv boxes if upgrading is too costly.
everything from the scenery to the shared facilities including the dining area, pool, parking the breakfast was very exceptional. The rooms were exceptionally clean and facilities as advertised. The comfort exceeded my expectations. The room was the best I've experienced in Newcastle.
