Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyI waited several weeks for an answer regarding the offered safaris, but then luckily two days before I got an answer and was able to book one. The rooms are very small so if you have a lot of luggage you should organise yourself well. The bathroom could be renewed.
10 stars go to the host Xolili. She is a very friendly women and she let us to the room even before it was check in time. She gave us a lot of recommendations regarding food and wildlife. The breakfast was delicious (fresh fruits, eggs etc.) and also the to go breakfast was yummy ! The terrace is beautiful because you can spot wildlife. Only 20 mins drive to Kruger. Beautiful pool and BBQ area. The location is wonderful because on your way to dinner you see so many animals passing by like giraffes etc.

South AfricaThe room was a little smaller than expected, but everything had a specific space contributed to it - like a closet for clothes, a small coffee station, a little stand for your luggage. The house is a communial space, so you will meet other very interesting people, and they will share the kitchen and pool area with you. The hostess made sure everyone was comfy. We were worried about our supplies because the room did not have a small fridge, but the kitchen had a spacious, clean fridge that we shared with the other guests that helped a lot.
I loved the calm and serene atmosphere. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning, and the animals were not shy to visit the space as well. The hostess was terrific, and she really made a huge effort to tend to all our needs. I loved the Nescafé Coffee Machines and the swimming pool area, and it is definitely a necessity to have an aircon here, which we did, and it ran with no problems at all. I enjoyed the bathroom with the cool shower and bathtub pairing. All cutlery was provided, and the kitchen was well stocked with tools for a braai and glasses and cups, etc. and I really appreciated the ice maker machine in the kitchen! The hostess backed fresh ciabatta bread every morning, which was AMAZING!

South AfricaThere is no back up for load shedding so it is virtually impossible to see in your room when there is loadshedding, which happens many times a day in South Africa or have a hot beverage.

South AfricaMy only disappointment was the size of the room and bed. The room was a bit cramped and the bed too small. Being 6 foot tall didn't help either. However the rest of the facilities and location made up for this, as we enjoyed being around the outside fire, being winter. A word of caution to those driving there, regarding the internal roads within the estate which are all gravel, however not well maintained, so a car with a low suspension needs to be cautious. There are also lion which roam around at night. We could hear them during the night. Created at lot of intrigue and thrill to hear them in the wild.
The surprise at arriving at an eco estate surrounded by wildlife was brilliant. Having visited Marloth Park for the first time was a really great experience. The area is bordering the Kruger National Park, which is alongside the Crocodile river, where the Elephants, Hippos and other wildlife can be easily seen. The lodge itself is well appointed having a lovely pool and boma to sit around the fire as well as being able to braai there. The breakfast was excellent. We even opted for a packed sandwich breakfast as we were visiting the Kruger Park on the one day. The kitchen is fully geared for self catering options if required, with plates, crockery and utensils as well as glasses. There is a fridge available to use. The antelope and buck are so tame that they come right up to the dining area. We bought pellets to feed them from the local store to feed them. The local store and butcher is well stocked and very convenient.
