Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United Arab EmiratesDo not stay at this property!! We booked into this guest house for a few easy nights instead of staying with family. My husband and I both work for ourselves and need to be connected at all times. From the start, this property was shocking - the building itself is run down, it barely looks like the photos. Secondly, we arrived to no hot water - my husband was told - after 15 hours of travelling - to shower 'in the pool'. To make matters worse, the wi-fi was then broken, with the hostess offering zero solutions and only problems and making excuses. What ensued was five days of immense stress and upset, with us having to stay away from the guest house to get wifi so we could work and be on call, and not enjoy the stay at al. To make matters worse, they pretended it was fixed, so we came home one day planning to send a bunch of emails, and then the whole property was out. We were then told they'd refund us a night - which we are STILL waiting for 3 weeks later, so they lied. Truly shocking level of hospitality! Also, there are dogs running around the property - including a huge German shepherd who comes into the rooms and swims in the pool. We are dog lovers, so this is fine, but this should not be only mentioned after the dogs have come in the room, etc. Honestly, avoid this place at all costs - there are countless guest houses in the area which won't lie about facilities, ignore you, promise stuff then don't deliver and leave you with a bad taste in your mouth and a ruined 5 days out of a trip. Avoid avoid avoid. My husband and I both work in hotels - I am a leading travel editor and journalist, and he is a hotelier, so we know bad when we see it. Do better owners!

United StatesThis was NOT as advertised. First, this is not a spa. There is a spa operating across the road, but this is totally separate from the guest house. Second, no mention that this property is directly on top of THE main road, and so continual noise of traffic. Third, there is NO restaurant on site, and NO breakfast. No food or drink is available. Fourth, the grounds are smaller than represented and rather run-down; Fifth, although the staff acknowledged the above, they were unsympathetic. Instead said 'read the small print'. Sixth, there is no refund policy. We left after the second day, and they still wanted to rent our room out to others.
The room was large and clean (although the bathroom was small and cramped). Friendly pet dog!
