The cottage was very clean and spacious. We really appreciated the homemade bread, wine and flowers! Elmarie also went out of her way to ensure we had what we needed for our special bridal weekend.

The Cottage has beautiful wooden floors and seating at the back and front porch. The beds were super comfortable, even the pillows- we usually take our own pillows, but did not need them at Kandelaars Cottage. The complimentary loaf of bread and bottle of wine is a lovely touch to make you feel welcome. Definitely an amazing place to stay for a weekend or longer.

It wasn’t really an issue but you are close to a road which had a bit traffic so it took away the full feel and sense of nature but none the less, it was still rather peaceful.

Our 1 night cottage stay was amazing. The unit is very spacious and well equipped. So appreciated the load shedding lights and really welcomed the freshly baked homemade bread and wine - the freshly picked lavender was a beautiful touch. The newly renovated back porch and braai area was really well thought out. The whole family all agreed that we should have stayed another night. Will plan another trip back soon.

Beautifully refurbished old farm cottage and well equipped for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the loadshedding lamps, but loved the candles and personal touches! Home baked rusks, etc. to make it feel like home away from home. Thank you, and I wish we had planned to stay longer!

We loved this beautiful cottage in the country side. It is well equipped and very cosy. When last did we find a home baked bread and a bottle of wine on the kitchen table? Very spacious with a stoep in the front and the back. Will be back, thank you Elmarié.

What a lovely place! So spacious and with every convenience thought of. We were welcomed with fresh flowers beautifully arranged, a loaf of farm bread and a bottle of wine. Such incredible hospitality. The cottage also has lovely hot showers which we needed on the freezing winter evenings! We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset walk up the koppie above the cottage, as well as our trips to the nearby Cango Caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch, Wilgewandel farm and Karusa wines.

It needs some form of emergency lighting for loadshedding. A few more salad- type bowls in the kitchen would be helpful. Close proximity to the road is not ideal, but wasn't a problem. A wood burner in the lounge would be amazing as it was quite cold and with load shedding the AC didn't work.

Beautifully appointed. Lovely touches like fresh flowers, bread, wine and jam. Electric blankets were most welcome. Very friendly owners. A really pretty cottage, very welcoming.

Can't think of anything. We knew in advance that there was no WiFi, which is as expected for accommodation on a farm. As alternative there was a very good and consistent data signal (MTN). The cottage itself and peace and quiet more than made up for it - in fact we could relax and have "time-out" more.

Unfortunately the water suddenly stopped as we started showering in the morning as there may have been a problem in the area. We just had to wipe the shampoo of our head and continue our journey!

The large home with outside braai area was stunning!!

There was no WiFi for our trip and I did not check it beforehand.

It gives you a real farmhouse cottage feeling out in the country. Loved the interior, especially the stoep area. We were greeted by a freshly baked bread and a bottle of wine, which was quite special. Fresh flowers was also a highlight.

Strong sewage tank smell in main bedroom bathroom. Entire time of stay DSTV Decoder - No signal. Main bedroom light was not working. We stayed for 2 nights, from the second night we were without water (and this just before we went to an function the evening, was not able to shower!). Sunday morning still no water. I reported the water problem to Elmarie just after 8 Sunday morning. She indicated someone will come to have a look and that we can stay until the afternoon if we want to (which was kind of her, but not practical as we had to leave early to drive back home). Unfortunately the person who was suppose to come and fix the water issue did not pitch in time and we left without being able to shower. Not a very comfortable stay at all. Would have appreciated at least a refund for one of the nights considering all of the above.

Beautiful Cottage. Bottle of wine and bread was appreciated, thank you! Big aircon for the warm summer days! Wood supplied and fire packed on arrival.
